Will my dead but sprouting Acer recover?
Many thanks Pete8, really appreciate your reply! Fully suspect it's dead in the entire top half and we'll end up chopping it off above the new shoots in the winter and seeing how it responds next...

Anyone tried growing melons?
Well they're in the ground now and seem to be enjoying the heat, unlike the tomatoes which are flagging a bit. I thought I would try them as they are so expensive in the shops now.
