Solved Bug on Photinia 'Red Robin'

    I have discovered these bugs on my Photinia. What are they and should I do something about them?

    As they are amongst the flowers I would guess they are some kind of pollen beetle and probably won't do any harm.

    Good morning @Victoria I think they are considered a pest they are the Mediterranean spotted chafer beetle they feed on Pollen and nectar etc,but here is a link that might be of some help:smile:

    Avast does not like that link @wiseowl

    Looking at other sites they quote Wiki as it being a pest and say the grubs eat plant roots...

        I have read the threads and taken on board the contents. I am concerned because I have Brugmansias to one side of it and Hibiscus rosa-sinensis to the other side, my pride and joy collections.

        I will just monitor in the meantime.
