How is all your veg doing?
Flying ants have now gone :gnthb: so I went out this afternoon and picked 15lb of runner beans. They are coming along so quickly that I am now picking at least 10lb every other day :yho:

Good point from pete - leave the male flower in the female to let insects continue transferring the pollen. Sometimes I've nipped open a female flower first thing in the morning to force things along.

Some of the leaves on some of my beans are turning yellow. I grew far too many plants initially, ran out of garden and stuck the remaining dozen or so in troughs and pots on a 'bung them in and...

Thoughts on Blackfly and Runner Beans
Hi Shiney, sounds like hoverflys, hold your finger up near one, if it hovers & has a look at your finger then yes. Very good for aphids, the larvae eat loads of em.

Broccoli talk
My PS Broccoli are both 2 foot tall and 6 inches tall! Some of the original sowing got removed - by birds, I assume. So I sowed some more. Looks like I shall have PSB for weeks! Yippeee!
