Hi @rosebayIt's important not to damage the new leaf buds which sit just underneath the flowers. I use my hands and pinch them off. Have a look here for a good pic. It can be a bit pernickety but if it looks like there isn't much room on the stem and I'd be in danger of damaging the leaves,...

Direct sun will have more of an effect than just heat from the indirect sun - particularly so if you have got water on the foliage and then the plant sits in the full sun

Thank you all for your suggestions. The growth (so far) would appear to be a grass of some sort - none of it has put out any leaves or anything. I have bought some Pathclear and a sprayer and will give it a go with that. If this fails, I have some sodium chlorate.

Hi All. Got approval from the boss indoors Planted 2 Fuchsias & one hardy geranium,just waiting for the last Fuchsia to be delivered. You do not realize when you dig a hole how much soil comes out into wheelbarrow.

No whis4ey, a hoe is a piece of equipment I've never used or felt the need for.

You could always pin some down on some compost,they root real easy

Our garden adjoined farmland and every spring the farmer would be out there, shall we say, keeping the numbers down but it still wasn't enough to stop them chomping their way through everything.

Conifers suffer in windy locations but I think yours have died to rapidly for that. There is a conifer disease that's been attacking them in the last few years, but of course that's not necessarily what yours have suffered from.Sadly any conifers that suffer from die back tend not to survive...

Hi sorry only just seen your message, thank you I live in Hampshire in the New Forrest. I will do as you mentioned to see which one it is, it has been very sheltered in fact smothered by the trees and other shrubs around it, I will move it if it's going to give it a better quality of life

About 20 minutes of your time and one of these should sort it. Personally, if it were mine I would keep it and keep it trimmed but each to their own. If you do set to it, make sure there are no birds nesting in it............or wasps !!

No responses as yet so this makes me think this plant is tricky? It's such a lovely variety I think it would be more widely grown if not difficult. Obviously the few places that sell it are going to tell me it's easy! Perhaps I'll have a rethink about sourcing it.

Hi, ordered from them on the well known auction site. Delivery was quick and plants well packed. I have planted some of them straight into the borders and others have been repotted because I ordered too many plants, got carried away. I need a bigger garden. lol. Everything is looking good. Vee

HiYes both would be , I had a quick look how many plants are affected, but you must remember echinacea is the problem with you , if me I would dig out some of the soil and replace with fresh if growing in the same spot , or use a pot to fill the space with annuals , which you will be pulling...
