    Fireworks Geranium

Yes, but I have noticed it doesn't seem to grow and flower as fast as other geraniums I have had. Hopefully it will pick up as the weather warms up.

raising soil level around plants... how?

Dependant on how many plants you would need to move, I think I would go down this route personally. You can then re-site everything where you want them and not necessarily where they were.

    Stagnant water from water butt?

I've had stagnant water in one of my water butts before, I used it on the garden, the plants seemed to like it.

Edging inspiration for Japanese theme garden

I think it would be better to keep the ground level. Below there are some lovely edging ideas which are level with the lawn and easy to run over with the mower. :)

    Daisies and buttercups

Have a look on Ebay, plenty about, consider clover too, excellent for bees. I scattered clover on my lawn last year and got reasonable germination.

    Killing stumps

Not tried bonemeal, instead for those I can't physically remove I put a few cuts in the top so that rain water pools and soaks into the centre of the stump. I think that speeds up rotting.

    Nasturtiums?

I found an old packet in the cupboard and sowed them in roottrainers, so far so good. Not many but enough to gather their seeds atseason end for a bigger batch next year.
