Warmed up here a bit today after a cold start so I took the plunge, even managed to get my next door neighbour to do the same! Chatting with a naked female over the garden fence was surprisingly non sexual at all, roll on the next one lol

Nothings safe till the second week in June at mine. Only this week treefern fronds and gunnera new growth killed off with a savage frost.

Quick question on this, will i be ok just concreting 3 upright sleepers on the front edge which is 3 meters long, or will i also need to put down a footing and put some 6" nails into the sleeper for them to sit on the ground in , or is this overkill???Hope all makes sense

It looks quite good. You may not need to 'age' them as they're not a strong red and having holes through the bricks may encourage efflorescence and form whitish patches on the bricks. That would normally happen during the winter as it occurs when it's damp but as you have no damp course it...

Just to add , Pieris prefer acid soil so a mulch with some Ericaceous compost and /or a feed with sequestrene (you can get them form the garden center) will bring the best out of it.@fat controller ...you're right about the flowers ,they are very much like Blueberry flowers

Cistus would be okay as long as it's not a windy site, there are also the larger sedums (ice plants) and Lupins will grow just about anywhere.

Thanks for the advice guys. I have started digging over the soil and getting rid of weeds. Coming across tree roots at almost every dig, so it's taking a lot longer than I had hoped. Sticking with it thou and will get some seed for when I'm ready. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
