    I JUST love this idea Palustris sooo need to recreate it in my own garden the Buzzy Bees would LUV it :)

    Trouble is that the netting on the side (to stop the cats getting in) traps the bees.

    Oooo i never realised the netting was the front - i thought it was glass fronted and the netting was in the garden- could i not have a glass front instead maybe? are there any disadvantages with a glass front? would appreciate your advice -
    I do have a potting shed and green houses that i leave the doors open on -never had a problem with cats , none in the area :)

    This is just a standard 12 by 8 glasshouse. All that I have done is to remove one set of glass immediately below the roof. The alpines in it do not need heat, just protection from overhead rain. The netting was added later because our cats found the beds were a nice place to sleep. Also had some trouble with birds getting in and not being able to find their way out again.
