Since I've been back here I've developed mouse problems  That isn't to say it is related, just a time frame really.

Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Sometimes I have to double click, other times I'm back to single click. I have great difficulty highlighting text for quote/copy purposes.

It is a wireless mouse and I have rebooted the computer, taken the remote "plug" out of the PC, pressed the blue "reset" button on the mouse and even changed the batteries. But, the problem persists. :dunno:

Any advice would be appreciated. TIA :spinning:

    Is it just with GC?

I'm occasionally getting a problem where I'm unable to highlight GC text without closing and re-opening post(s).

And using a tablet the +Quote|Reply box often doesn't appear after highlighting text, once again necessitating closing and re-opening.

I find that when you highlight text keep the mouse pointer close to were you finnish the text, sometimes if your to far away from the text you don't get the +Quote/reply box

Is it infra red or Bluetooth? I find infra red ones absolutely useless. Bluetooth not so bad.

I suspect that Microshaft have done something in one of their updates, as I have had a few problems with keyboard and mouse, where the PC will effectively not respond to them for a few seconds, and then try to 'catch up' when the PC realises it should be doing something with the information coming in

No mouse pointer with touchscreen tablet, different problem with Windows + mouse.

But I'm having highlighting text problems with both Windows and Android.

I bought my infra red Microsoft Intelli Mouse around 2000. We were golfing in Llandudno and my knee gave in - so hobbling round the town I saw this "new technology" for about £20. Used it constantly since , and its never missed a beat . :blue thumb: I presume they do a Windows 10 mouse now which will only work on alternate days ?

No idea why that would be then @Scrungee - I only use Android on my phone, and for what I do with it, it seems to be behaving quite benevolently

This is ringing bells, I thought it was my computer! I'm having the same issues with the finger pad and keyboard.

@Scrungee - no, note restricted to GC

                          @clueless1 - infrared

@fat controller - yes, that sounds very familiar!

After posting yesterday trying to find some solution or other my broadband went off :wallbanging:
It is very tiresome trying to do anything when it is behaving like this. Hmm, may well be the update then  :dunno:

Hi @"M" You could try typing “devmgmt.msc” in the Windows Run box to open the Device manager. If the mouse is not working, you can press Win+R to access the Run box,Expand the “Mice and other pointing devices” section, highlight your mouse listing and then select “Uninstall”. Then choose Action – > Scan for Hardware Changes and this should bring your mouse back to life.

I find infra red ones lose their connection if you do much as lookat them funny. Bizarrely, whenthe signal breaks, they don't always just stop, sometimes the receiver just rapidly repeats the last thing it received.

As for broadband going off, not sure if this would affect you @"M" but BT had a nationwide outage yesterday apparently.
