Losing a friend, even one who prefers remaining on aquaintance level only, is a tough time.

Hugs to you and Mrs Trunky.

January 9, 2016 our boy Phantom (foreground) passed suddenly. January 26, 2016 Panther ( tuxedo ) passed on due to an attack by a raccoon. These two were always together over the past 10 years. Now again in heaven they roam together. Its been a hard month for us. always together..jpg

@Trunky so sorry Indy had to leave you. The wonderful thing about cats is their individual and unique personalities but she was comfortable in your home and I know you and Mrs Trunky will remember her with fondness.

@redstar ... oh my heart goes out to you losing Phantom and Tuxedo within weeks of each other and I know you and hubby must be devastated at such a loss but they will always be with you. :grphg:

RIP Indy, Panther and Tuxedo. :cat-kittyandsmiley::cat-kittyandsmiley::cat-kittyandsmiley:

Gosh! Such a hard decision to make, but such a kind and generous one too. True love!
My sympathies to all The Trunky's as you grieve for Indy. Will a plant be placed in a special place for her?

Indeed! They all make paw prints on our hearts and it is such a wretch when they leave us :grphg:

thank you but its Phantom and Panther. Tuxedo is a type of cat that is marked that way, like a tuxedo. (helped in the picture0

I wonder if the other cats look for them. they have been a group of cats chumming about in the gardens, in the house for the last 12 years, all together. Teddy --Phantoms brother: both would groom each other and no one else. Sleep together in the house etc. Today caught Teddy sitting on the deck staring out into the gardens where they would roam and play. Was he looking for his brother? It will be hard when spring comes to not have the gang follow me around, the tails held high behind me all 6 of them. And gathering around me when I sit on a bench in the gardens --wanting a pet. I could also find Panther and Phantom under a shrub taking a sunny nap, a foot apart. The mother of them all is still with us. She must be about 14 years old, spends most her days in the warm garden room. Although a die hard feral, she discovered the cat door on her own and now has in her old age decided pets are good and staying in a house the best. We give her respect (she after all birthed 10 babies). And there is sweet Sissy girl, still will not come in the house but for a shy 5 mins if I shake the dry food to try to show her how warm the garden room is and her siblings are here. So she likes her heated cat house just off the deck. And so goes my group, now there are 4. I tell MomCat that she gave me much joy, with all her babies from the wee weeks old they were and still today, such memories.

Many apologies ... I knew it was because of the markings.

I'm positive they look for the 'missing' one ... mine have gone around to all the usual places looking for days on end.

I'm still not over letting go of my 20 year old Magic Sam a few months ago but the adoptive Siamese (well, I think he's a Snowshoe) is falling into Alpha Cat place and although an outdoor cat has become suddenly become a housecat and Mummy's boy! :cat-kittyandsmiley:

@redstar our thoughts are with you :grphg:

I'm sure the others miss them as we witnessed that behaviour when Oscar went. :blue thumb:

Although the others were just visitors to our garden they were friends of Oscar. For months afterwards they would come round, occasionally, and stand looking in the door of his greenhouse and obviously searching for him. He lived there but no other cat was allowed in except by invitation.

None of them ever came to take up residence in there, although we left his carpet on the top shelf. There is a resident/visitor there now (Sarafi) but he was not one of Oscar's friends as he was only a kitten in those days.

Sunday past was a pleasant day, did a garden walk, really do miss them as they would gallop along with me, or meander behind. Teddy joined me as usual, MomCat came along but slowly, she is old, and only came down half way to sit and wait till I came back up the path. Teddy and I sat on the huge flat rock that sits on the side of the path. It is hard not seeing all of them near. Teddy sat next to me. On the way back it was just Teddy and I, then MomCat joined us. I do have wonderful memories. But my little paradise has been shaken this week.
