Sorry for my confusing suggestions, actually, when i search seed sowing, i get a thread from other forum, which is a daily sowing seeds one, there are some people share which days which different types, so i go for check that one, decide if i want grow that kind. If we have one, i will check it daily.

As others said, the tomato and chilli threads are very good and popular, can people share other seeds like this in one threads, i know there have many others, but too difficult to check daily. Maybe because i am lazy.

Anyway, wish you all will share some seeds especially new one at any thread, to stimulate new gardener like me to try.

It is just my opinion, please share your opinions, all welcome:spinning:

      Hi Tracy,
I think perhaps something that might work really well for you is to buy a book that has all of the vegetables listed and tips for growing them. The reason I say this is that most of us decided what we want to grow, then search for that specific information.

I have several gardening books and go through them every winter to help me decide what I want to grow. Or, seed catalogues also are a brilliant source of information to help guide you. Most of them have seed sowing tips and they usually tell you how long the vegetable takes to grow to maturity.

Everyone here is very sharing but I don't think we have the time to compile an all inclusive thread on seed sowing. Plus there are a lot of different growing zones represented here too.hmmm, I see you haven't added yours! Please do, that will help us help you :)

Do try ordering a seed catalogue. They are usually free and have wonderful pictures too.

        Hello all,

I apologise first of all if I'm being a bit thick here, but..... " A daily seed sowing thread " ?............

Does it really make any difference if I sow my ( for example ) Sweet Peas on a Monday or a Tuesday ?

Surely a monthly sowing guide like that you get on the back of seed packets is better.

Also, as Lori says, I don't see how you can give advice to someone when you don't know where they live. For instance, I'm in a relatively mild area of the UK ( only two mild frosts this Winter and no snow since 2009/10 ) and Lori lives in frozen solid Canada !

Hello, this is a good guide and it is downloadable and easy to follow, I find this useful and simple and have printed it out for easy use:

          http://www.thompson-morgan.com/vegetable-seed-sowing-guide

If you have specific questions from this there are lots of experienced veggie growers on here who will be more than happy to help I'm sure. And as others have said there are very active threads on popular veg like chillies and tomatoes.

          Good luck and enjoy!
          GG

I've sown toms, eg. in Feb, I've sown them in April, its not like you can only sow seeds at certain times.
Most seeds have quite variable sowing times so I'm struggling a bit to work out what this thread is about?
                  Maybe I'm a bit thick :rolleyespink::biggrin:

So others add to your diary, or do they have their own?
