@strongylodon is correct. We have plenty of greenfinches (not quite the hoards we used to have when we could see at least 50-100 sitting on the branches of the willow) but we rarely see any goldfinches.

Our pheasants are around all day every day (four males and seven females) and there's rarely a half hour without there being a great spotted woodpecker on the bird feeder. The woodpeckers nest in the poplars at the bottom of the garden.

A day doesn't go by without our three crows being in the garden. It's been the three of them for about four years (don't know how long they live) but they don't seem to bother the other birds.

Plenty of tits around but not as many bullfinches as usual. Lots of chaffinches, our six regular robins, magpies, collared doves (two pairs), pigeons but haven't seen the goldcrests for some years now.

All the Crow family, except Jays live up to 10 years in the wild.

Bullfinch, Goldcrest, Jay, Reed Bunting and Nuthatch have been one off visitors in our garden over the last four years we have been here.

Had an interesting incident this morning. I've been hand weeding and removing loads of moss (use a little hand rake and hand fork) and a robin was constantly around helping me. I wear a very old jacket for gardening that has a form of stuffing between two linings. It's ripped an torn and a piece of the stuffing (about 2" x 1/2") came out of the sleeve. The robin immediately snatched it and flew off with it. :)

No photo to share but I did see a squirrel on my back fence. It is the first one I've seen in this garden since I moved here.

A cold but bright and windless morning out in Wareham Forest and Morden Bog.

Woodlarks, our only other resident Lark were about, their song could be heard a long way off.
