Why does my homemade chilli never taste as good as shop bought?

I use dried chilli flakes in mine and cumin. I do like to melt a square of 80% chocolate into the chilli once it has finished cooking and prior to dishing up *nom-nom-nom*
I don't bulk out the chilli sauce with vegetables, they get served separately. That way the palate gets a bit of variety between mouthfuls otherwise it would just be the chilli and rice/cornbread.

The Mexicans use chocolate quite often in their sauces for meats. Although their sauce, called Mole, uses it a lot it doesn't have to be used in Mole.

Native American Fry Bread. will check it out. Guess its made with corn. Yes, if you have a recipe please post it. Making corn bread is easy though, just put the batter together, pour into skillet and then into the oven it goes. The thing with frying stuff on the top, is sometime the fry smell lingers in the house for a while. Really not a fan of that smell. However, have been toying with the idea of summer frying out on the grill. thanks @Sandy Ground

Remember that both Cornbread and Fry Bread tastes best if made in a Cast Iron Pan...:snork:

            that is the only way.

read the recipe for fry bread. seems like also the East Indian type. Thanks much.

went and found this------ After fry bread is done top with favorite topping or, chile and cheese first, then cover with lettuce and tomatoes, onions, green chile and you have an Indian Taco.
