I'd rather have my own independent opinion that one that was affected by the opinion of a Politician whether he/she is campaigning either way. There is more to the decision than worrying about who supporting what.
Anyone know what the massive changes are that Cameron has spent the last few days fighting for? And eventually won.
I agree, but as nobody is telling us exactly what deal has been done or how we will be affected either way, we have to piece together theclues. Some of the clues will be reported details of deals and such. Others will be the behaviour of those likely to be in the know. On the latter, GGove is likely to be in the know, and his past decisions have created problems for ordinary folk while winning favour among the elite. He does not act in the best interests of the ordinary low income commoner, so if he thinks we should get out, that probably means the elite would benefit from pulling out, possibly at the expense of the rest of us.
Some of the much discussed ones don't come into effect until 2020, and the rest seem to be more promises of changes that the EU is "committed" to seeing coming into effect than actual changes. Being committed to doing something is not the same as actually making sure it is really brought into legislation and effect. I don't see any more control of our borders, our sovereignty, our courts being given back to us whatsoever. What agreements regarding benefits seem to be been watered down from the original demands made by Cameron so that they're not as, in my opinion, clear or effective as they would have been if kept as originally put forward.
Oh, I don't disagree, Clueless. My point was that I have never let my liking or dislike for any Politician affect my own decision. Everyone seems to be talking about which way Boris Johnson will "jump", but why would I care?, he's a London based guy who will play to the London crowd and with his eyes on becoming a future Tory party leader. Having said that the Out Campaign has not shown any sense by inviting the likes of George Galloway to head the campaign. As for the details and facts of the agreements I doubt if we will ever get the proper truth or details of those in the next 4 months. The media seem to have now dismissed the meeting of the EU Leaders and are now saying that really it will come down to the Gut feeling of the British people. All this, with the SNP trying to use the referendum decisions as another excuse for the separation of Scotland from the UK.
To some degree, Pete. To me it's been similar to walking into a shop to buy a leather armchair and coming out with a wooden stool, with the knowledge that the shop might come back and change even the stool to something cheaper and less strong!!
True, but you'd probably still be paying for the price of a Leather armchair whilst sitting on an not very comfortable rickety wooden stool and getting bum ache!
It's no wonder that our motor industry khaked it when you consider that was what we called the quality end of it There were a few exceptions to be fair. The Rover P5 and P6 came close to challenging Mercedes in terms of build quality and close in terms of engineering but then it all went tits-up with the SD1. The Austin/Morris 1100 and 1300 were conceptually brilliant but they rotted away even faster than a FIAT for gods sake! 100% agree. Worse still he treats everyone with the same level of respect that he reserved for his fagboys at Eton. So who has more to lose from the UK leaving - us or them? The population of the EU is about 750 million and the UKs population is about 65 million. So the UK could potentially see greater damage to our GDP than Europe will. And what about the proposed TTIP agreement - will we still be a part of that or will we be the only (?) developed nation that is not a part of any international trade agreement?
Boris still sitting on the fence, still can't work out what decision will be best for his country career. Maybe he'll join the sizeable don't know/undecided group?
Good morning all my friends well I have been reading books from both sides of the spectrum over the last few months ,have watched TV programmes even went back in time to when we first joined the common market, have digested the opinions of Enoch Powell,Tony Benn ,Vernon Coleman,Ted Heath,Harold Wilson right, and David Cameron through to the present day,I will try my best without fear or favour to make my decision not based on my personal view of all these individuals but on what I consider the best for my Grandchildren for their the future
