The pent offers having the highest point to one side instead of straight down the middle where you access things. If you are hanging long items, that back wall would offer lots of space to do this. Alternately you can fit a lot more shelves along that back wall. I don't believe you get a lot of snow so the slope wouldn't make it less desirable.

Yes, the apex is more traditional looking ... but is it function or fashion that you wish to stress?

Think I posted a similar thread when I was preparing to move here (still haven't got a shed though :heehee: ).

In the end, it was decided that a pent shed was the way to go for us for practical reasons e.g. hooking up guttering for a water butt (still haven't got those "plumbed" in yet either :th scifD36: :mute: ). So if that might be a consideration for you at some point in the future, it's worth thinking about *before* you spend your hard earned pennies :):)

That's my two penny worth anyway :heehee:

                  Okay,
Your chair, the refrigerator and side table to place your cuppa need to be placed on the window side of the shed. The back wall holds the shelving for the radio, a clamp lamp for reading. You need a peep hole in the door to screen callers who might try to intrude your peaceful nest. Sound proofing so no one can hear you chirping in there. And don't forget to use feather pillows to roost on...:heehee:

Pent tends to be more practical if you have a lot of equipment to store - shelves, tall tools etc. It also fits better if you're going to have it backing on to a fence as you don't have water runoff on that side. The low side is usually still higher than an Apex. This normally gives you a choice of end door or side door (with window alongside).

Pent also tends to be cheaper.

Guttering to apex sheds costs far more than pent (AKA mono-pitch), as you'll need guttering both sides, and across the back.

Apex sheds are stronger, and you can store stuff up in the roofspace.

Pent sheds can be hotter around head height if you're working in them during summer.

Apex sheds are more difficult to re-roof if constructed tight against a boundary, plus you have that additional complication as mentioned by @shiney about guttering between your shed and the boundary.

EDIT: If opting for pent, consider spending a few extra pounds on some extra internal supports to make your shed roof a bit stronger.
