But it only costs a few pounds to add them if not supplied.

I personally prefer the Pent shed. Both will be great but get the biggest you can afford as they seem to magically attract tons of "stuff" :)

IM planning on building one if I can find some cheap wood and a recycled velux and double glazed window because im skint. Only got the padlock so far :snork:

I would purchase the pent shed - simply because it is more versatile in terms of where it can be placed. My pent shed it currently placed against a wall. If you place an apex shed right against a neighbours boundary - rain will fall off the roof - into the neighbours garden - quite possibly soaking your neighbours moggies :snork:.

A pent roof is a perfect place for cats to sunbathe. Is Penny going to like that @wiseowl ? :)

I have an apex shed now but have had a pent roof shed in the past, there's very little to gain or lose with either of them. I believe you are quite tall, have you checked out the headroom in both?

good point. A lot of Pent sheds have their lower side taller than the low sides of an Apex. You need to check that.

Can't add much to Scrungee's post, except that in my opinion apex roofs look more attractive.

Having the extra headroom in an Apex for storage swings it for me.

                  That decides it then.

I put up a new 12 x 8 apex shed at the allotment nearly 3 years ago. All off the shelf sheds you can buy are too small in my opinion, allowing you to just about walk down their middle.

I raised my shed onto some scaffold boards which means that the bottom of the eaves are now at eye level, this has made it much more user friendly. I also think that shed bases as supplied are rubbish and flimsy so I built my own, again out of scaffold boards.

At home a year later I built my own (from scratch) pent style shed, again a 12 x 8 and the lower eaves on that is 6 ft, the higher 7ft. I went for pent this time as I wanted a workbench with cupboard space underneath, and cupboard space above, similar to a run of cupboards in a kitchen, that was on the 7ft side, the other side is obviously big enough to hang tools etc.

                    Steve...:)

My own view is that if the shed is going tight up against a wall, choose a pent roof. If its going to be free standing, then it should be an apex one.

Wiseowl, if its possible, follow Steve R's advice and lift it from the ground. Not only does it make the shed more user friendly, but it help air circulate under. Therefore reducing the chances of rot and allowing it to last longer. Sheds are like rose bushes, they like air circulating round them! :snork:
