    Aloha everyone,

@"M" we're very sorry to hear about your son and hope he recovers soon. :grphg: If he finds out who the culprits are I'll send the boys round with the castrating shears!

My back seems to be improving but struggling just a little bit this morning until it starts to ease. I can now get in and out of the car without being in a lot of pain :hapydancsmil:.

I had the X-rays on Friday and my doctor hadn't received them by yesterday morning . So I phoned the hospital administrator and they promised to fax the results that afternoon. I phoned my surgery in the afternoon and got a message that the 'surgery is closed for a training afternoon'! I'll give them time to settle down this morning and then phone again as I can't have any more treatment on my back until we know what's wrong (I still think I've only damaged the muscles :fingers crossed:).

Off to the hygienist this morning and will see whether I can sit in her chair.

Sarafi has been playing new tricks. :) Although he is looked after very well by his humans he's a typical Six Dinner Sid of a cat. He comes begging at the door - particularly around meal times. As we throw any of our meat scraps (never much) out into the garden for the birds he tries to anticipate when we shall be doing it and comes miaowing at the door. Our doors are glass so he plonks himself down, looking very forlorn, and makes quite a loud noise.

    P1250955.JPG

As we rarely have any scraps he doesn't often get anything but he absolutely adores chicken wings with which I make my soup - and he can always smell when the soup has been made. We tend to ignore his begging a lot of the time (quite hard to do) and, the other evening, he started a new campaign for our sympathy.

He has always used a conifer tree in our front garden for climbing. It's right alongside the lounge window and all the lower branches have been removed. Oscar used to use the same tree :blue thumb: as it's easy to climb and a cat can sit quite comfortably in the upper branches.

    P1120085.JPG

The other evening, whilst we were sitting watching TV, he climbed the tree and hung there whilst sticking his face by the window and miaowing! :heehee: I watched him for a short while and then pointed him out to Mrs Shiney. He then realised we had seen him so he quickly scooted down the tree, ran round the back of the lounge and stuck his nose right up against the glass of the door.

So, what could I do? :noidea: I had to go to the kitchen to get a chicken wing and he saw me going in that direction as was waiting at the back door when I got there. :cat-kittyandsmiley:

Keep well and have a great day

    Aloha!

      Good Morning all,
Shiney, glad your back is on the improve, hope the x-ray results are good.

I feed Amber raw chicken but if she does not eat it straight away after a small respectable time it is ousted for the neighbourhood cats and foxes. She usually devours it straight away but occasionally she must know her own body she rejects it. Sarafi is a beautiful cat and like the cats that come round here I am sure their humans look after them but we do from time to time get cats left behind when 6/12 month rentals end and they are no longer allowed to take pets to their new homes. It leaves it to us older residents to look out for these waifs and strays and it happens often here.

I am too feeling a bit brighter this morning as I hope many of you are too, Have a good day take care, stay warm and dry and above all safe and well!
      God Bless. :wub2:

          Morning all :spinning:

Eyes are being held open with matchsticks, 11.30 pm we had a power cut :noidea:....the
fire alarm being attached through the leccie, starts beeping, that sets off
Shadow barking :yikes:making me jump out of my skin :yikes::yikes: (OH has ear plugs in, so did not
hear him):thud: Get a torch, OH wandering in the dark wondering what was going on, he
is all muddled. Rang the SEC, very important work being done, estimated to finish at 3.30 am :fingers crossed:
it came back on at 1.30, so we had it all again with Shadow wondering why everything
was flashing and bleeping :wow: must have settled done by 2 am after settling down
          both OH and dog.

Whilst this was all going on, there was a high wind swirling outside, things battering, there
was I, hoping for a restful night, so that my back would be relaxed enough to give
me a bit of respite today. No, back is cripplingly bad :wallbanging: more painkillers today.

This morning is so bright and sunny, thankfully nothing was damaged last night,
everything is still in it's place.

Well, I'm off to have a rest, taking it easy today:snooze::snooze::snooze:

Have a good day, one and all.

          :imphrt:

Morning all. Hope you are all well.

It's a chilly, breezy morning here with a few light showers thrown in for good measure.

Think I'll take myself out for a walk again today, I like to get out every day, the fresh air and exercise should help to keep me in shape for the eventual return to work.

Have a good day everyone, only 85 days until Shineyland. :)

Gorgeous morning here, cold & bright :dbgrtmb: long may it last :fingers crossed:, we had a lot of sleet yesterday I don't want anymore of that thank you!

I'm itching to get out in the garden, I feel a bit like a aged animal, I'm either at work, grocery shopping, have to much to do inside or its dark! The days are getting longer so hopefully very soon I shall get out there :dbgrtmb:

That's tea break over so I'd better get back to it.

Enjoy your day & get well soon wishes to those of you who need them :grphg:

                      Good day everyone,
It is -6c/21f and trying to snow. We have been told by the weatherman's crystal ball that we have 4 more days of bitter temperatures to endure and then the days will be above freezing. I am getting weary of winter and looking forward to that!

I hope everyone has a safe day and that everyone on the mend, does so quickly!

He sorted the baddie, drank a cocktail (shaken, not stirred), saved the world and lived to fight another day

                              Aloha everyone,

Well, I've got the doctor's verdict - sort of. Badly strained muscles, pressure on nerve causing pain down left thigh, arthritis in right hip, arthritis in lower lumbar spine, lower half of spine straight instead of having a curve, bones thinning, blood tests show no nasties. :phew: She wants me to make an appointment to discuss thinning bones.

Had a treatment yesterday and it went quite well. In general, I'm improving quite well but the nerve in the leg is OK except when trying to get in or out of the car. I've been banned from gardening for another two weeks. doesn't stop me playing bridge, though! :snorky:

Got Tom popping in this morning to do some maintenance on the computer as a swap for some Naga seedlings :blue thumb:

This afternoon I'm helping the County Bridge Association run an event. It's for novices and it's an experiment, on our side of the county, by the Association. I've hired our village hall for them so that they can use my club's equipment that saves them lugging theirs across county. Also, I get preferential rates for hiring as I'm the hall's biggest hirer. :dbgrtmb:

I should get home in time for me to get ready to go to one of my bridge clubs for the evening. :noidea:

Yesterday was a lovely sunny day, solar panels were very happy, and the sun is shining again this morning.

We've got more volunteers to provide entertainment on Open Day (people are so generous :love30:). Just got to co-ordinate the programme again.

Keep well and have a great day

                              Aloha!

                                Good morning everyone,
Lili, do hope you can catch up on some sleep and you get to rest your back.

Shiney, glad your back is gradually improving. I empathize with you over the arthritis, as we get older not a lot we can do about it. But look after ourselves.

Hope all our poorlies are on the mend and that you soon get well.

I understand we are to have freezing weather up into April and very likely a white Easter! Oh happy days!
Have a good day all, stay warm and dry and above all safe and well, God bless. :wub2:
