Might have taken me 6 years since I first mentioned them, but finally got given some by some gardening friends :spinning:

Oxalis tuberosa, will start them off in pots, but best to get them in the ground for a good crop apparently :)

Now what is that Zigs ? If you could help the great unwashed of Gardeners Corner . It does look like something from a "B" science fiction movie . Thankfully the egg box does give it scale :blue thumb:

I have not grown these for a few years now, and grew them two years running.

Advice then was to start in pots (as Zigs says) and grow on to a decent sized plant before planting out after all frost risk has gone. Mine where roughly 2 ft tall when I planted them out. We got a crop and they where nice enough but I was not happy enough with the crop size to grow them a third time. I started growing artichokes instead.

It'll be interesting to see how you fare with them Zigs.

        Steve...:)

I'm growing some too for the first time, no idea what they taste like but the pigeons like them so that's positive. I've had to net them. They were free from van Meuwen when their web site threw a wobbly last year :)
