Good afternoon @MrsTea thank you for your kind and friendly comments my friend, they are as always very much appreciated:smile:

I have just got these red bark chippings to surround the new shed with I am a little wet working in the rain, but Mrs Woo said well that's nothing unusual:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

It's coming on well Woo. Some plants around the shed would contrast the red bark nicely. :)

                  Looking wonderful!

Is that a rockery you are planning in the corner of the bark? A stumpery would look fab also (but better suited to the bench area, I think).

                      Good afternoon Mr Wiseowl

A stumpery was very popular in Victorian times and very basically is a fern/tree stump version of a rockery. So, instead of rocks, tree stumps of all shapes and sizes were positioned together, the gaps filled with soil and those gaps were planted with ferns.

I saw Mr Titchmarsh make one under a bench with a few stumps/logs and a couple of ferns and it looked really impressive (and great for bugs). I'll see if I can find the article ...

Hmm, having trouble locating the AT stumpery-under-a-bench article  but, I have found an article by Carol Klein in The Times where she describes how to put one together and recommended plants; plus, an old Gardeners World video where Joe Swift shows how he made one (his one features a large tree root effort which wouldn't fit under a bench :heehee: but would still give you an idea of what a stumpery is all about).

I plan to have one myself (one day!) because I think they make attractive features :)
