They're mainly a mixture of different veg John which I don't know much about, with the exception of salad plants like cucumbers, tomatoes etc. I'm sure we can work out what's best and err on the side of caution. :)

5c is quite warm for many plants. My greenhouse temperature alarms have two settings 41f/5c or 13c/55f for the lowest settings.

They didn't calibrate these things with those parameters for no good reason..........

That's an interesting thought Lori, but I can't risk losing someone's plants by giving them risky information. I think I'll stick with the 10C. :)

Yes, for tomatoes, I keep the alarm on the high side. And that is the minimum so when the 110 decibel siren sets off I leg it dowstairs to check the heater, pronto.... maybe I should stock nitro pills.... :)

Yes, I totaĺly understand being cautious about advice. Bought some pansy seeds as mine didn't sprout... all is forgiven and forgotten er okay forgiven..:grphg:

We can't always be expected to qualify every suggestion... heavens, we'd sound like pharmaceutical firm's disclaimers!

It is all fun. No one died because a seedling died. :)

Sorry all, I've found out it isn't veg being grown but flowers but the temperature issue would be the same for most anyway. :)
