    I really wish I knew, @JWK. They had plenty of light, weren't in the cold & were watered from the bottom. One by one they shrivelled up.

          Hey guys I have been given 6 seedlings from a friend as my big onion seeds failed can I still hoping in or do you have to have to grow from seed your self they are only about 4 inch high thanks guys

            Welcome in Richard - the more the merrier! It doesn't matter if you haven't grown from seed yourself - it's still early days :)

              jesus i'm way behind

              I currently have mine hardening off. I've had them on a sunny hot south facing window since i started them. They're now in unheated porch for a few days before going down to the polytunnel on Sunday.

              I'll then pot them on and hopefully kick them into faster growth

              Does anyone feed them a weak solution? like liquid seaweed?

                I've given my seedlings a very dilute feed of miracle-grow just once so far.

                            Me too - they're quite delicate to be transported I would have thought, but we'll see! Anything to get me back in the running for th GC competition :snork:
