Had a day off as my son finished school yesterday and inlaw are on holiday so unable to look after them. So did a few chores this morning and then took daughter to ballet, which was great as I have never seen her there before. The teacher even let my son join in, which he loved. Sat on drive now with both of them asleep in the back of the car, they are both really tired at he moment so I will leave them for a bit then fog supermarket and sort dinner out.

    Rusty.

Went out early morning to see if there were any early migrants arriving (birds!!!!:snork:) and saw nothing, came back and painted the porch ceiling, emptied the toad aquarium and moved them from the spare bedroom to the kitchen as our son is coming to stay and they can make a noise! Did a bit of ironing and tidying, and now going to make a cuppa for Mrs S, (the working one) as she will be finished for Easter and will be knackered, our son will be one will be knackered too, both happy to see the end of term, good job I don't do anything!:rolleyespink:

Took the carrier in for an oil change - told I need a new battery. Said no - figure I'll put a battery maintainer in it for now. Or test it myself - they said I needed a new one for my Mustang and that hasn't been an issue - maybe their tester is wrong. Already spent £1500 on it in the last 5 months after buying it used and another £1000 on my Mustang with this shop so was a little frustrated with the cavalier attitude and them somehow thinking I've buckets of money and well...

Was glad to see my friend settled back in the home. He doesn't like the hospital and let's everyone know.. :rolleyespink:

And I also got about 100 yards of cord made and ready to start making cushion covers so all outside of gardening is on schedule :)

Just giving the bathroom a coat of paint. It's lovely outside too. The quicker I get the bathroom done the quicker I can go outside! Just having a cuppa now then I'll crack on.

Went off for an early morning walk with Mr Kandy so it was a 3 mile walk by the time we got back to the car and it was just starting to spot of rain.

After a nice hot chocolate drink we both went up into our loft to start having a sort out of stuff up there.Passed quiet a few boxes of jigsaws, boxes of reading books old pictures and ornaments that we longer need down the ladder to Mr Kandy so our hall and lounge was starting to look a bit full:sad:After having a bite to eat we packed my car with all the stuff and headed over to the local Air Ambulance shop where they gratefully received our offerings. The lady on the till got Mr K to sign up for Gift Aid which means that for everything they sell of our stuff they can claim and extra 25p from HMRC which helps them out even more:hapfeet:

Back home we packed the car again and headed for the local tip and got rid of a load of cardboard boxes, videos that we bought as blanks and recorded stuff off of the telly, and Mr K's third computer (Amiga)that he bought years ago and got stored up the loft when he had finished with it.Couldnt believe how much the box full of stuff weighed and that was without the monitor which he dumped a few years ago:snorky:Cant quiet believe how much crxp we have kept and stored up the loft.He is a bit like his late father and his sister in that respect:snorky:

Just watching Gogglebox that we recorded last night now while dinner is cooking:biggrin:

Since my husband and I are off to York to meet friends tomorrow until Tuesday, we had my sister and brother-in-law over for a pre-Easter dinner. Now the suitcases are packed, house is clean and we relax watching Gardener's World on BBC 2.

Wife took kids to a birthday party this morning, sovi started to give the house a good clean. Moved all the furniture in the living and dining room and gave the floors a good mop. Cleaned and mopped kitchen and utility. Cleaned and mopped hall and downstairs lav. Wife came back and went food shopping whilst I stayed and started upstair, buty brother on law and nephew came round and now the living room looks like a bomb has hit it after my kids came back and have pulled everything out again :wallbanging:.

Drove up to Baslow in the Hills of Derbvshire and met with the Stone Carver who had cut a custom made memorial plaque for my Brother who's ashes are next to our Dad's at St Annes Church. Then we put the plaque in place and I felt a "load" off my shoulders knowing he would have approved of the design. Job done, we went for a meal at "Charlies" Cafe/Restaurant opposite the Church and swapped a few tales of yore', and then I headed for home.:snorky::coffee:

Signing for Gift Aid is an excellent thing to do as the charity gets 25% extra on everything that you donate. It's, supposedly, the income tax that you had paid on the money that you earned to buy the things in the first place.

Just a word of warning about it. Don't sign Gift aid if you don't earn over the tax free allowance (currently £10,600 and going up to £11,000 from April). The taxman will still give the charity the 25% but as you haven't earned enough to pay tax they will send you a bill for the amount they gave to the charity.

Thanks for the info @shiney Mr Kandy isn't retired yet so pays the normal tax rate on his wages but can see what you mean about after he has retired. As we have lots more stuff to get rid of we had better get it done before he retires although when he gets his pensions he will probably have to pay tax on it anyway:snorky:

We managed to get a good walk in this morning after the rain had stopped and then after lunch we loaded up the car and took a load of rubbish to the tip as it was open today although we don't like this recycling plant as much as the new one in our town but at least the loft and garage looks a bit emptier.:snorky:

This evening been watching the farming life programme on BBC 2 (7pm start) and now watching Robson green.Oh and also got some more Broad Bean sown in trays and put in the greenhouse:snorky:

@Kandy As long as he pays enough tax to cover the 25% of the sale value of the items, he can continue to do it as Gift Aid.

Just as another point about tax: if you have some savings in the bank/building society, and get interest on it from which they deduct tax, and you don't earn any money (or don't earn enough to pay tax) you can fill in a form from the bank/BS called an R85 which would then stop them deducting the tax.

Nothing. Turned up to office and my chair was gone, and the IT broken. Just sent everyone home. What a waste.

I need to fix my rear wiper on the carrier. I didn't realize I had left it on when I turned the vehicle off one day last week. Then we had an ice storm. Very thick ice. Turned on carrier, wiper tried to wipe but couldn't so now it is out of alignment. It only cleans 1/4 of the window and down my backside. That's the only part of the body that has a nice clean swipe across. Will fix that today before I go out. and after that - it's all to do with getting ready for spring growing.
