@"M" I've lead you up the garden path so to speak! The rose arch has been put together, it's not dug into the ground yet.....let's not rush into anything :gaah:.

The house is looking clean & smart :phew:, I've sorted out another two black bin liners full of jumble today :dbgrtmb:.

@moyra, I promise tomorrow will be a taking it easier day, my list of jobs has been greatly reduced now & I'm feeling much better :dbgrtmb:.

@CanadianLori.....chocolate chip cookies......I have food envy! :heehee: I love choc chip cookies :dbgrtmb: I hope you & your family enjoy them :hapydancsmil:.

I'm pleased your back is getting better @shiney :dbgrtmb:

@wiseowl, the primroses are really beautiful this year, is it due to the mild weather?

@Zigs, :dancy: light until 8 :hapydancsmil:even the thought of that makes me feel very happy :dbgrtmb:

    Night, sweet dreams :grphg:

      Aloha everyone,

Well, yesterday's weather turned out better than expected. :blue thumb: The rain held off until the evening and we only had to avoid working down the bottom half of the back garden where the wind was causing it to feel freezing. The main garden and the front garden were OK if we wrapped up warmly.

We got a lot of work done with Michael doing all the really heavy work.

This morning it's sunny and breezy with rain forecast for lunchtime and gales for this evening and all day tomorrow. So we'll do what we can whilst it's OK.

I'm letting Mrs Shiney sleep late this morning and shan't wake her (if she doesn't wake up herself) until 8.45 new time as we have someone coming at 9.30.

Keep well and have a great day

      Aloha!

Good Morning everyone, Happy Easter Sunday all.

I hope you all have a lovely restful day today. Amber's breakfast was put out at the usual time but someone hasn't told her mechanism that the clocks have changed. Still when she gets hungry she will realize, come and eat it and then be ready for walks. Have a great day everyone and don't overdo the chocolate. Have fun whatever you are doing. Apart from walking Amber I shall take it as leisurely as I can. Stay warm and dry and above all SAFE and well, God bless.

Happy Easter Sunday to all who are reading this.

No chocolate here @moyra it's not really my thing; much rather have a tasty piece of cheese :heehee: ETA: until I read about the Shy Knees "chocolate" that is

It's sun and rain this morning, so, when I stepped out of my back door, there was a beautiful rainbow arching across my garden :wub2: The rain then stopped so it disappeared once again

Oh I see  yes, best not to rush it :heehee:

You must be feeling quite relieved that things are progressing forward now. Thank goodness for Michael and his muscles :phew:

            Safe journey, Zigster

Healing vibes for those who need them and miles of smiles for all xxMxx

                Good morning Folks,

                Happy Easter

I've had a lovely lay in :snooze:.

Beautiful bright day here, long may it last. I'm going to potter around in the garden today :hapydancsmil:, I have a few bits & bobs to do & the hens need cleaning out, I might give the greenhouse a clear out then tonight I'd better start my seeds :hapydancsmil:

I think I have my family coming over tomorrow for dinner (just waiting for my brother & girlfriend to confirm) it won't be anything complicated, I might do jacket potatoes, ham & salad or homemade lasagna with salad & crusty bread & of course a pudding made with my new mixer :dbgrtmb:.

I hope you are all well & have been blessed with some sunshine :spinning:.

Enjoy some chocolate....but not too much :nonofinger:.

                Have a good day :hapfeet:

We had some yesterday that Mrs Shiney bought in Aldi. It was quite nice  85% dark chocolate with a bitter cherry and chilli cream.

                      Good day everyone,
Here I am back at 5 hours behind most of you. The day looks like it's going to be sunny (the weatherman lied again) and I plan to be out getting my free D after I've finished this mornings baking. Hot pepper bread, cookies, and mini pizzas. My OH is actually planning on sanding and finishing the part of the living room ceiling where we had water damage - 5 years ago. I think my threats to fix it myself might have provided a little motivation but since he is going to take on the task, he gets the mini pizzas he likes.

Have a safe afternoon and evening everyone. Enjoy the hour daylight cut off the morning and tacked on to the end of the day!

And there is @Beckie76 thinking her rose arch shouldn't be rushed :roflol:
We had a really waffy drawer in our first home together; it would slip, wouldn't shut properly, it was a PITTA! I kept asking Mr "M" to fix it: please; pretty please; pretty please with knobs on :dunno: He finally fixed it but this was *after* I had moved out and a couple of days before he joined us in the next house  At least *he* was pleased with himself :heehee:

                              Aloha everyone,

@moyra I guess you're having the strong winds that we're having so I'd leave it until this afternoon to go 'walkies' if you're able to do so. :grphg:

It's getting pretty rough here. I've just copied what I said on the 'What's your weather like' thread so don't bother to read this if you've already looked there - and vice versa. :heehee:

The heavy rain has stopped but the wind is still roaring. The stupid weather forecast is still saying the wind speed is 17 mph and won't pick up, to 50+, until at least 11 a.m. They obviously didn't try walking down my garden during the night!

When the really heavy rain stopped at around 4 a.m. I went out in the garden to reconfigure my bird feeders so that they wouldn't get blown down and damaged but the birds can still use them. It was surprisingly mild at 51F but I didn't attempt to go past my Main garden, which is reasonably sheltered.

At 6 a.m., as it was getting light, I decided to have a wander round and inspect things. The Anemometer on the canopy was screaming round (actually emitting a high pitched whistle :rolleyespink:) and had a red light flashing. It's attached to the emergency rewind on the canopy. A three-seater wooden bench had blown over but apart from empty pots and trays blowing around there was no obvious damage.

Some of the flower beds are flooded but they'll soon drain off. I tried to walk down to the bottom of the garden to see whether the weed membrane on the veggie patches was needing any attention but the wind coming off the field was a bit too strong to try and walk down there. From what I could see through the tree boundary it seemed OK.

I then walked to the front garden just in time to see a 30ft tree come down in the field opposite.

I'm now snug indoors listening to the wind getting stronger and I'm pleased we had one of our giant poplars, that was rotting, taken down a few days ago.

Stop Press: I just rushed out to the greenhouse as I glanced out of my window and saw one of the top windows bouncing up and down a little bit. The greenhouse is 40 years old and the points no longer fit the holes on the latches, due to warping. So I went to try and tie it down. I got that one tied down and was going to do the others - until I felt the whole thing shaking in a gust of wind. Discretion is the better part of valour, so I'm back indoors!

Keep well and have a great day
