OMG the 2 of you shiney and JWK, sure your names aren't Morecombe and Wise? Some double act.
Presume you mean Hedgehogs the nursery @Jack McHammocklashing ? I got bark chip (pickup's worth...the joys (most of the time)of a big garden)from them at the best price delivered I could find and people seem friendly and helpful. They seemed to do a good line in fruit trees but most of their plants were run of the mill but good for those just starting with a garden. I have used Bridgend too but didn't realise that's what it's called  I know it as Freuchie Nursery which isn't it's right name. Good for seed spuds I believe not that I grow them but know folk who do. Have used Growforth near the Forth Bridge quite a bit. Used to be very good as was purely wholesale and they got in some cracking plants. Now do retail and wholesale and while still not bad and better than the likes of your Dobbies it's not as good.
Re mare's best. My oldest stuff is now plonked on my veg patch but there is plenty of rotted enough. It's purely droppings ie no straw or shavings mixed in which need rotting down and the horse has only been fed grass or hay as he's retired so not needing hard feed (oats etc) which makes the manure break down very fast. I have some which is roughly 6 months old and I certainly wouldn't hesitate to use it now. If it had straw or shavings mixed in no but it doesn't. You are more than welcome to it, just bring bags, unless of course you could get your hands on a little trailer . It is up a short slope but you can get you car parked pretty close and I have barrows to barrow the bags down to your car and spades to fill said bags.. The slope is a concrete path so no wading through mud. Just PM me if and when you want some and I'll give you directions to where I live. If it suited timewise, daughter goes to the gym at Balbernie almost daily, you could arrange maybe to meet her and follow her back here as where I live is a little out of the way and not the easiest to find.

There you go Jack. It is only a half plot. We don't get the option of a full plot because of the waiting list so when a full plot becomes vacant it is split. Raspberries Fallsgold Yellow (lovely jam last year) up side - Autumn Bliss in cage, garlic planted in October coming on well, garlic planted in February peeking through. Pallet collars used to house strawberries (saves bending) and others will be used as carrot box and parsnip box.

Good Friday, I planted all my early potatoes, I am trying several varieties this first year to see which grow best/taste best
I have Javelin, International Kidney, Red Duke of York and Rocket

Today rain stopped play so I could not get my main crop in the ground, so that is my next main job after the ground has dried out a bit

Dig your international kidneys as soon as you can Jack, otherwise they grow off into different dimensions that would flummox Max Von Planc

                    All is revealed
When I took the plot on back in October it was waist high in weeds, I got given the keys to a shed and told all within was mine to keep
Inside amongst all the tools was lots of children's garden stuff, I felt a bit guilty
I thought maybe they had all died on a Tunis holiday or Sharm el Sheik, or a road accident

The truth is, the previous tenant had been coming home late every night having planted his seed
only it was NOT in his allotment :-) and got caught
