Beautiful photos and great suggestions, thanks everyone :)

My last garden was completely enclosed with clematis and roses. I miss my old plants so badly......

But.....new garden to play with :spinning:

    Happy days. :)

Mrs T's given up with me, every time a parcel arrives, all she says is it another clematis.
I've just got Clematis akoensis, its a species from Taiwan.
Also getting Clematis cadmia, again from S E Asia
She reckens I'm a clematis nut

It is indeed Rosa Banksaii, named after the collector Joseph Banks. It is the most wonderful climbing rose, very very beautiful small double yellow flowers. It's a species from China and grows big, needs a south facing wall in England, maybe west if you are in a warm area. It flowers for about a month from the end April most years (sometimes earlier) and another big bonus is that it is thornless. If you have space plant it, you will be rewarded. I first saw it about 40 years ago at Kew, where there is a magnificent specimen, and was smitten, bought one and was rewarded for many years until I moved. If you grow it, research the pruning; it is rather specialised.

I'm not really a Clematis specialist rather I think I'm a Clematis lover:wub2: and if I see a "Clemmie" that I like, then I buy it:heehee: But then again I'm like that with most plants:dunno::heehee:

Hmmm, I can't find anything that says Clematis Cassis is a difficult Group 3 type, or that there are any major or recurrent problems with it, Ian.:dunno: The RHS says that it may suffer from Clematis Slime Flux, but that it is "likely to be somewhat tolerant of Clematis Wilit.:snorky:

It could be that she lives in Ohio, there winters are worse than ours, and summers warmer, which could have a effect on it
