Read I'm not the only 1 who is a non fetching shade of blue. It's b freezing here, wind that could cut you with a knife and I now I'm going to have to get on with decorating a spare room and can't use the garden as an excuse to not get on with it. I am not that keen a DIYer but that is considerably preferable to doing anything in the garden atm!

After a night of clear skies, during which I managed to get some good views of Jupiter and some of the Stars that were shining brightly, the clouds moved in and I headed for bed around 2am. This morning was cloudy and grey with the same characteristic that everyone seems to have suffered........cold. Actually, the temperature rose to the magnificent figure of 45f which really shouldn't have made the day feel as cold as it did feel.

So as the garden wasn't as inviting as it normally is I spent the day talking to a couple of experts who know a lot more about astronomy than I do and they solved a problem for me that I'd been :wallbanging: for the last couple of days. Right now the temperature is 46f [1 degree higher than it's been all day:doh:and the pressure reading is 1010mbs, with a mixed weather forecast for the weekend.:coffee::snork:

That is real money!! I was brought up and taught to use Fahrenheit and, to me, it feels more "exact" giving me a better sense of the temperature. Celsius and Kelvin just don't seem to express the actual feel of temperature. 10c??, what's that???:dunno:, whereas 50f gives me a idea of how warm/cold it is. Naah, give decimalisation back to Europe and lets go back to 240 pence in the pound, pounds, ounces, inches, feet, yards, miles, pints, gallons etc.........:heehee:

I too talk Fahrenheit. It was a balmy 46f here too. But tonight we're dipping well below freezing and for another 6-7 days. And it will be cloudy - they say - for nearly 14 days in a row. :frown:
