    @wiseowl - did that; it has shown a little improvement, sometimes ... think its the weather making it sluggish :heehee:

                  if you say that you have rebooted the PC so practically deleted any potential virus (that was one of the first thing that came to my mind...) and the problem is on and off (as opposed to just "ON")... would it be a wiring issue somewhere? (two things that I would do is: change the mouse - maybe choose one with cable -, change port of connection)
