It seems that their updates deliberately change our settings (that we have taken time to set) to the way Microsoft want them, NOT the way we want them. Is this going to be the way of the world?? Big Brother in disguise??

I've not had any big problems with W10 Armandii, just a lot of niggly ones and most are sorted out now. This touchpad thing was a pain though, having to go in and alter it on start up each time.

I'll be sticking with it, GC actually works better for me on W10. :)

I recently sent of for the advertised FREE "Which Windows 10 explained", it only cost me £3 plus they kept my card details so they could send me other reports at £10 a month.

I went online and cancelled it the same evening.

              It could be quite helpful.
              if I understood it.

The only bit I did understand was "dont bother if you have got your head around what you are using now".
              Or words to that effect.

I am a Mac user so I have no idea about Windows 10, but what I do know is that my sister went back to Windows 8. Her new laptop had W10 pre-installed, but apparently Windows 10 made her laptop sluggish and used too much memory.

It could take the National Museum specialists a bit longer than the fossilised remains of the herd of Diplodocus that they presently working on, Shiney:dunno::heehee:

Wow! that one is already an upgrade from the one I've got. It's based on the QL style with the bigger frame ready for the next stage that had a built in tape drive. It has mini-drives. I've still got my old Ferguson tape drive that went with my original 1982 MK1 model (the Spectrum is in the loft somewhere ) and the tape recorder is sitting on the side in my office.

I upgraded to the full QL with the looped tapes :blue thumb:

                          Hi Pete,

Those" Which " guides are real rip-off. I remember applying for one a few years ago. Totally free but once you received it you had to pay £10 a month to receive others whether you wanted them or not. Needless to say I promptly said no and put the phone down.

Yeah that's why I cancelled, that very evening online.

I didn't expect the hard sell from them, true they warned me, but still think its a bit of a liberty.

Maybe their selling practices should feature in one of their guides
