I'm in! :hapydancsmil: Mine were not very tall last year, but this year they might be better :fingers crossed:,

I started mine off in the bathroom last year , it's nice & warm on the bathroom window ledge & the neighbours were talking about my drug factory!!! :lunapic 130165696578242 5:,I did explain to the village gossip that the plants were sunflowers! I shall certainly grow some more sunflowers in the bathroom this year! I will also sow direct. I put copper take around my seedlings last year, it certainly helped to keep the slugs off :dbgrtmb:

      Good luck everyone :)

Top Tip - don't tie your sunflower stems up too tightly to their supports and then go away on your hols, or you'll come back and think another competitor has garrotted your prize plants as stems on sunflowers grown for large heads can rapidly increase in diameter.

Anybody else remember the days when carpets came rolled around a giant, thick Bamboo Cane? That's what I use to lash to a length of galvanised steel plumbing pipe driven into the ground, and I lashed a 2nd pole to the top of that.
