    It's a diamond engagement ring M.

Our future son-in-law had us laughing when he told us the story behind it yesterday, the proposal didn't quite go the way he'd hoped.

Trying to find just the right moment, he suggested they go for a wander along the beach to watch the sunset. They found a rock to sit on, but she couldn't quite get comfortable so she sat on the rock facing away from him.

He couldn't quite fit the box containing the ring in his pocket, so he'd put the ring in a matchbox which fitted snugly in his pocket without showing. When the big moment came and he produced a matchbox with a ring in it, she thought the whole thing was a joke and he had to convince her it was a genuine proposal. :snork:

          Good morning,

I feel stiff this morning :old:, obviously the gardening has done me the world of good using muscles which hadn't been used in a while.

I'm off to work....for a rest today :heehee:!

The morning chorus was super this morning :dbgrtmb:

Kev has seen Mr Rat-a-tat-tat this morning :paladin:

I hope you are all well, enjoy your day :ccheers:

Good Morning @Zigs, you can have some of our rain if you like to make you feel better...... its raining so heavy it appalling and dismal

@Beckie76 I agree the morning call this morning was lovely, I was taking Tess out for her walk at 6am this morning before the rain. I'm not surprised that you are aching with all the work you have been doing :) A rest at work sounds delightful :heehee:

@Trunky what a lovely story :) and a big Congratulations to them both :spinning:

                Have a lovely day everyone...:spinning:

@toppington It's great of Zigs to offer to pick you up from the station (less than 2 miles from us) but I don't know how you would get there. I suppose the best way is to go into and then out of London , unless you can get a bus coming in this direction. The bigger towns nearby are Harlow and Bishops Stortford.

The train line is the Liverpool St to Cambridge line. Slow train takes about 43 minutes and medium train about 36 minutes (no fast train). How you get to Liverpool St is a mystery to me  :heehee:. If you can get to the Underground easier you can take the Victoria Line to Tottenham Hale or Seven Sisters and then hop on a train, we're only a few stops from there (about 20 minutes).

                    Good day everyone
I will be making the rounds with my sister. Taking her to get some government issues sorted then off to a clinic for an X-ray. It is totally overcast and drizzling so I am lucky to be doing these errands today and not wasting a good weather day.:)

I have lots of paperwork (taxes and accounting) to get done when I get back, so once again, I'm not wasting a good day. :)

Have a safe dry day everyone!

Just walked Amber in the rain. Not very nice out there now. Phoned the docs for my blood test results, he is away on holiday but the receptionist said I would need to see him when he gets back next week as the results were 'Abnormal, but to be expected' so not sure what that refers to my diabetes, my anaemia, or my kidney decease (KD3). I expect my anaemia is why I feel so tired and cold all the time.

Well hope everyone has achieved all they wanted to do today. God bless and have a good evening.

                              Aloha everyone,

@moyra some doctors' receptionists need a bit more training in how to word things

They're much better now, at our surgery, after I had a meeting with the Practice Manager and the Patient's Group. :blue thumb:

@wiseowl I hope you've got your bounceability back again. I'm doing OK but still bouncing on one leg :)

I got all the mowing finished yesterday :phew: so have arranged for the mower to be picked up this morning and taken for a service. There's nothing wrong with it but it's three years since the last one and I can't afford for it to pack up on me. It costs about £100 for the service :rolleyespink:

I also got a little bit of digging/weeding done. :dbgrtmb:

It has rained all night and we supposed to be in for showers today but I don't care :)

I just got as far as typing those last four words when they rang a bell in my mind. I tend to find that most things remind me about words in a song and those four reminded me of the lovely song by Frank Loesser.

"Many times I've been told by the wise and the old
Something good I'm supposed to remember
If my first love I'll found in, in the warm of July
It'll cool in the, in the nip of September

Now they point to the skies
                              Do the old and wise
And they speak of a chill in the air
                              But I don't care

For still I love my summertime love
Still I love the kissing and the cuddling
Still I love my summertime love
With a heart still summertime true

Still I love my summertime love
Still I want her walking close beside me
Still I love my summertime love
Let the seasons change as they do"

Keep well and have a great day

                                Good morning,

Very wet & grey here, but I'm on top form :hapydancsmil:. I think we are in for showers all day, hopefully it will clear up later in the week :dbgrtmb:

The hens are full of it this morning, charging around looking for worms on the lawn! The blackbird is also busy looking for worms, much to the hens disgust!

My brothers partner had an appointment with the midwife yesterday, apparently the baby is engaged & the right way round, we are now all waiting for a phone call, he's not due for another two weeks, but according the those who know he could come anytime :fingers crossed:

@moyra, I have to agree with @shiney doctors receptionist don't have the best way with words! I'm sure there's nothing seriously wrong, a doctor would have rung you if there's was any major problems, try not to worry my friend :grphg:. I've had to speak to one of our receptions on two different occasions, due to her manners or should I say lack of manners! :nonofinger:

                                Enjoy your day everyone, :hapfeet:
