Good grief man, never apologise for more pictures from Durlston Country Park. I've never been, I'm unlikely to ever get there and I :wub2: viewing it from your cameras eye!
      Excellent photo's

The past two years (at least) there have been House Martins nesting under our eaves. I'll post when they arrive for us.

I am not sure why @"M" but House Martins have been declining in England and Wales over the last twenty years or so but the numbers are steady in Scotland and Ireland.
I hope yours are on the way.

Wouldn't want to get to close @Zigs, squirting half digested food at you via the nose can't be a very pleasant experience!!!:snork:

Our female Blackbird was hopping about on the front lawn (after I raked the dead moss off yesterday) and noticed two young ones by the hedge and grabbed the camera. First young birds I've seen this year.

Long tailed Tits nesting in big Ceanothus. Never seen them before in this garden so a welcome resident and will enjoy having them. Lots of birds in the garden this year, more than the last couple of years. Not sure why.

The jackdaws which have been trying to build a nest in a number of the chimney pots seem to have given up/gone elsewhere and have not been seen or heard for four days. My noise-making has succeeded in discouraging them perhaps. Hip hip hooray!!!! I'm thinking this is about the time of year when it is getting too late to nest build.

Hi Strongylodon, love your pictures:), i was concerned that my resident blackbird had lost there young after seeing a female nest building, anyhow it appears i have more than one resident female, ive seen the male collecting worms on a few occasions since :),

The other night it was nearly dark and he was still foraging i put the garden lights on for him:heehee::).

Well a little Jackdaw update. They did not return since that day, thank goodness. The interesting bit is we have some friends right on the other side of the village who were having exactly the same problem. On speaking to them, their Jackdaws had fled also, on exactly the same day. Nature is fascinating.

Several coal tits foraging under the bird feeders, first year I've seen so many.

I disturbed a Robin today; he didn't fly far, just as far as the lower trunk of my 'smoke-bush'. He sat there watching me, for a few seconds, then hopped away just a few feet. He didn't seem worried, about me, no doubt having seen how nimble I am not! :snork: I think he was mocking me; either that or he was checking if I had a fork in my hand!

A short while later I saw the first "small tortoiseshell" butterfly I've seen in almost 5 years! I hope they are coming back.

Sorry, no pics; my phone-cam isn't much 'cop'!

Ohhhhh big ol' bumblers! I love bumblebees! I've seen a couple of big queens buzzing around over the last couple of days, which is great.

Today I also saw the first honey bee I've seen so far this spring, hanging out in the blossom on my plum tree!

...also saw the first wasp of the season on the tree this afternoon, but I'm less elated about that.
