      Good morning,

After yesterdays hard work I feel tired :phew:, so I thought I'd go to work for a rest! :roflol:

Buttercup is still broody, she's eaten some scrambled egg this morning but no way near enough to fill up her crop, I just have to wait for her to get over it

Kev has left a pile of cr@p outside the workshop door, he's sorting through the stuff in there at long last, I shall be really pleased when that's done :dbgrtmb:.

It's chilly, overcast & windy here this morning, I think we shall probably get some rain too.

I think I will have one more cuppa before I go:coffee:, enjoy your day everyone :dancy:.

Urgh. I woke up before my alarm (8am), but fell asleep again to have strange, Star Wars filled dreams, and to be jolted awake by my second "get-up-you-lazy-moo" alarm (9am).

Better hop in the car and go pick up the dog from kennels!

          Good evening WW'ers

Been a very busy week with one thing and another, not least the garden! Also spent far more time than usual chatting to my lads, who are both going through differing, but still worrying times. I shall be so glad when May 19th arrives! [IMG]
She won't need to fill her crop, Beckie, simply because the energy needed to sit on eggs is nowhere near the same as is needed to produce one. I suppose I'm lucky that I can watch mine far more than you get an opportunity to do (with your busy schedule) and I can assure you they do take time out for a drink and a nibble and they are fantastic at regulating their intake. Doesn't stop the worry though, does it  If it helps, try and think of it another way: if they eat too much when they are broody, they would start building up fat which could lead to other health issues ;) If she goes on for too long and you are beginning to get concerned, you could try cooling her down (their temperature goes up when they are broody). Some people dunk their broodies in a bucket of cold water; others use a small metal dog crate and put the broody in there (with water and a bowl of feed) so air circulates around the hen, thus bringing down her temperature. The dog crate is put in the hen run so she isn't completely separated from the others (lessening the chances of having to do the "Introduction Gladiator Trials" ). I tend to be a "wait it out because nature is wiser than I am" type.

Healing vibes for all who need them and miles of smiles for all xxMxx

              Aloha everyone,

It's a bit dull out there but not frosty and the sun will wake up and come out to play within the next hour. :)

My leg had a bit of a relapse yesterday  , for no reason at all :noidea:, and I had to go back on the painkillers . It's not too bad today but I shall take things easy.

Keep well and have a great day

              Aloha!

                Good Morning everyone,

Shiney. maybe that was a warning that you have been overdoing it a bit, go on admit it! Take it easy today.
WOO, that's a lovely sunrise, hope your bounce is coming back gradually, do take care my friend.
Lili, hope you are gradually on the up too. M sounds like good advice to Beckie. I am sure she will be ok. Beckie is she sitting on china eggs? That's what some people do when their hens go broody is put them on china eggs.

Have a good day everyone, supposed to go up to around 16c this afternoon, I'll believe it when I see it. Off to walk Amber, take care all. God bless.

                    Good morning,

It's a lovely day here, far too nice to be at work !

I've had a wander around the garden & watered my roses, some are doing better than others :noidea: I hope they will all catch up. Most of my seedlings are doing ok,my tomatoes look a bit rubbish, I've had words with those this morning:nonofinger:.

@moyra no buttercup isn't on China eggs, she steels the other hens eggs & sits on those! :doh:I have wondered about getting her some China eggs, what I'd really like is some hatching eggs, but the deeds to my house states 'no crowing cocks!' I don't know what I'd do if I hatched cockerels as I couldn't keep them & I don't know anyone who could take them.

@"M" thanks for your kind reply :grphg:.

@shiney, please be careful today my friend :)

Not a lot else going on my end, I'm now off to make the coffee/tea for tea break, enjoy your day everyone :grphg:

                      Good evening WW'ers

Have had a super lovely day today. Took Mr Ozzy to the woods where the bluebells are in full flow; on the way met an acquaintance (local) and had a fascinating chat. Learned a little more about the local history (never know when it will crop up in a Wine & Wisdom :heehee: ). Spent a couple of happy hours in the garden; didn't get much done because my quiet time was interrupted a number of times with telephone calls  and when I wasn't answering the 'phone, I was picking at a weed here and there or admiring/anticipating plant growth and flowers :heehee:

@Super Lucyjin - hope your doggy is happy and settled back from kennels (and no Darth Vader inVADERing your dreams last night)

@moyra - good point about the china eggs (I knew you would know a trick or two  ). I kept some marble eggs for the broodies back in my old garden ... no idea what happened to those

@wiseowl - gorgeous sunrise! Thank you for sharing it with us today :wub2:

                      No reason?
                      At all?
                      :psnp: :psnp: :psnp:
For a very intelligent man ... you are being very ... man!! :psnp:
Now: let us think about this, "over doing things": ... one day of meetings vs several, consecutive, days of gardening ...
Man logic: I haven't been over doing it; I only went to meetings yesterday.
Womens logic: What a numpty turnip  lawn edging; pressure washing; secretly doing things when Mrs Shy Knee isn't looking ... and he says he hasn't been over doing it :loll:
Rest! Take more pain killers and do as Matron Shy Knee instructs you to do :nonofinger:
And .... get better soon :grphg:

@Beckie76 - mine is white, no sugar, thank you :coffee:

                          Aloha everyone,

Yesterday warmed up considerably but we've had another frosty night and have a beautifully sunny morning.

                          Rumbled!! :snork:

There was a bit of diabologic going on yesterday. I was hobbling around a bit, late morning, in the kitchen when I trod on a thorn :yikes:. We haven't worked out what the thorn comes from because it's tiny and very thin (about four times the thickness of a hair). As neither Mrs Shiney nor Androcles were here I had to extract it myself. It was stuck in the ball of my big toe and extremely painful but I managed to get it out with a pair of tweezers. When I had cleaned up the blood and put anti-septic cream on there wasn't even a sign of the hole.

It wasn't until a while later that I realised that my leg had stopped hurting. :rolleyespink: So back out doing some more pressure washing :runforhills:  Leg still OK this morning.

I probably won't do any more pressure washing today - just got the mower back from its service. :loll:

I've just been reading about Nafas Asnavandi, a young Iranian girl, who was speaking at seven months old. By the time she was two and a half she knew all the capital cities of Europe, learnt all about the solar system and was learning all about the organs of the body.

One of her main hobbies is understanding diseases and all about medicine but likes science and maths - and playing in the park with her friends.

She's now four and is learning English (can read and write it), paints and is learning music. She's a very bubbly child and on top of all that is extremely pretty and is signed to an Iranian modelling agency where she loves modelling clothes.

She also belongs to an eco club where they work with nature and she helps make nests for birds etc. Her interest in the body includes healthy eating and makes sure she eats good food - but does like the occasional naughty nibble.

Apparently she enjoys everything she does and finds plenty of time to play.

Picture at four and a half years old.

She sounds an incredible little girl. Must have exceptional parents too.

Hope you are all well and better for a bit of sunshine.
Have a good day all, God bless. :wub2:

                              Good morning,

Glorious day here, after a frosty start.

I feel like I've already done a days work this morning, emails, phone calls & generally organising stuff which needed doing. My next job is a phone call to the estate agent then I can shoot off to work.

Still no sign of the baby, he's not due until the 27th but hes engaged, the right way round & pushing on my poor future sister laws bladder, I think she will be pleased when he arrives. I'm of course very excited, he will be the son of my favourite brother which I think makes it very special.

I hope you are all ok? It's certainly going to be a nice day for you dog walkers. Happy gardening to those of you who are going to be at home today....BUT remember to take it easy!!

                              Enjoy your day xx

                              (Smillies not working!)
