Am I alone in having next to nothing underway from seed yet this year? My petunias are little more than wee dots, my trailing lobelia is only just starting to look like something, and the bulk of my seeds are still in their packets.

I am genuinely swithering whether to even bother this year, or just save the seeds for next year.

Now's the best time to start FC given the current cold snap. All my seedlings are shivering in the greenhouse so I reckon sowing now will catch up mine.

Its a slow year for me also, nothing much in the way of warmth to spur you on.

I have a lot of seedlings because I started everything myself but I do have a lot of empty soil blocks. Germination failures or haven't got started and keep shuffling the seed packets instead of planting them.

I think this rollercoaster weather has really caused a lot of procrastination.

Oh, and aren't you the one who has had to take time to develop a system for a pos application? Not lots of spare time there....

No you're not alone. I haven't sown anything but then I've not long moved house and I need to concentrate on the DIY :thud: :help:

I'm hoping to sow some sunflower seeds in the next few days though plus my dad is tempting me with a few of his tomato plants. I'll bung these in pots and put them in the sunniest part of the garden and hope for the best. I'm also still looking after all the plants in pots I brought with me but this will have to be the extent of my gardening for this season. The new garden is a blank canvass and I'm really looking forward to properly getting stuck into it when the boring DIY is done! :)

I'm the same. Like Pete it has been so cold that I can't be bothered. Also the logistics of space means that it would be a waste of time as well.
So for me it is just some Salvia species and a few Abutilons so far. It has been so cold that even the stuff in the coldframe is barely germinating (Fritillary, Lillies, Aconitum, Asphodeline etc.).

Definitely a band of us @fat controller! The germination of some of my veg has been spasmodic to say the least! I even thought I'd forgotten to sow something as nowt came up but EVENTUALLY a couple of pathetic stragglers appeared. I'm just hoping we will get an Indian Summer to make up for things being so delayed this Spring. All I can say is thank god we don't have to rely on home produce otherwise I think we'd all be going pretty hungry.

It's a Pieris " Forest Flame ". The new leaves are always red on this one, then they turn green. It needs an ericaceous feed to stop it yellowing.
