Future Macro Comps IMPORTANT

Such a pity, but, totally understand.

Thank you for all your hard work in managing these competitions and taking the time to set them up and keep on top of it all. While I may not be active in them, I do appreciate your efforts and I have enjoyed seeing the entries.

 

You do a good job Woo with the comp's, but for some resson i've not been posting much, i seem to have lost my way, but once i get myself back on top (were ever top is now ) i'll be back, i just need a bleeding good hard kick up the backside

 

Thats a shame but understanable. I looked into th poto comp my self by chance only last night but had nothing i could add as ive only got a poor quality camera phone to hand.

Will that be your final entry for the macro competition?

 

In the absence of actual macro competitions, to try and keep things ticking over, maybe until such time as they could be revived, perhaps there could just be some form of non competition macro photos thread.

Or, just one comp p.a. and keep it open for a full 12 months, as there's times when there's not much out there, plus some of us might be out of action/away/busy/etc. at various times of the year.

 

Sorry to hear of the Macro competition's demise. Sadly you are quite right Woo, there hasn't been much interest of late. Thank you for your own efforts to support it until now.

 

Sorry about this news, Woo. I find that there are some months where coping with the day-to-day stuff is too much for me. I may manage to capture a memory via my mobile, but that is about it.
Today I used an actual SLR for the first time in many months (took me 15 mins to even find it!). The battery was flat, at least I could remember how to use it..... The thing is, can I remember how to download the images?!!

 

Don't despair Woo, there is still room for macro as Scrungee gave some ideas above, I have a couple more too.

1. 4 times a year macro comp (seasonal) Spring, summer etc, unlimited entries.
2. Normal photo comps. As I understand it the winner gets to choose subject for next comp which could be something like "Flower macro", "Bug macro", "Abstract macro" etc
