    Obvious! :dbgrtmb:

If we didn't buy the new cars there wouldn't be any old cars for you to buy :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Mrs Shiney's car was bought new and is now 16 years old. Well looked after, reliable, cheap to run and one little old lady owner! Shhhh!!!!! Don't tell her I said that. :snorky:

Good point shiney - my Pug has had 3 previous owners - and I've travelled as many miles as all of them put together.

We hired a new car to go down to Polperro (pic's in my gallery) and spent most of the time worrying about whether it was being pranged/broken into whilst in the car park. I just dump the Pug where it breaks down and don't give it another thought. If it was ever broken into - the tea leaves would probably leave a tenner on the dash

            I can't see the pic?

I've had to get a new hard drive recently as the old one had been 'hacked' - wonder if this is something to do with it?

@clanless if you mean mine, I can see it but have deleted and reloaded.

I cannot answer with regard to your new hard drive.

My dream car has always been an Alfa Romeo . Oodles of style with zero reliability  I bought this new and kept it for seven years - no problems . It's a Alfa Sportswagon 2.0 Veloce , gorgeous motor :wub2:

I know that feeling. I've had a couple just to sell on when they were at their relative low price wise and now wish that I'd just sat on them. Trouble with owning them is that the engine was a tad fragile. Head gaskets failed and for various technical reasons that ended up being a full engine rebuild.

                        My own list is vast (as I'm in the trade) but my faves were;
Alfasud 1500ti - the original hot hatch
Peugeot 205 Gti (1.6 and 1.9) - if you were brave they had obscene levels of grip
Renault 5 turbo - modded turbo and went like hell in the night
Trabant! Sooooooo cool it was unreal!
Rover P6 3500 with full length Webasto roof.
                        Mercedes 190 2.3 16v (Cosworth) - how I wish I'd kept that now.

After years in the trade I'm jaded by cars and knowing what I do would never own a modern car. So my daily drivers are an old Peugeot 306td (possibly the best car that I've ever owned for cheap and reliable motoring) and a 2003 Merc C class diesel estate.
To be fair the Pug still amazes me with its cross country speed. Not fast engine wise but you just don't need to slow down for corners that have the lardy overweight modern stuff diving for the brakes (or the hedge :heehee:).

In rough chronological order from my first car to my latest, all second-hand jobs:

                            Fiat Uno (red)
                            Renault 5 (navy blue)
                            Citroen ZX (petrol green/blue)
                            Daihatsu 4Trak (navy blue)
A... black hatchback that I cannot remember what it was for the life of me. It was either a Renault or a Citroen :thud:
                            Honda Jazz (pink :rolleyespink:)

Some of them were more memorable than others. The notables:

                            * The Fiat had KGB in the number plate, so we called it "Olga the Russian Spy". She was old enough that she still had a choke pull, and could only go 60mph downhill with a following wind! :snork: Despite that, she was my first car, and you love your first car, eh? When we sold her on the buyer drove off without the papers, and a few months later the police arrived on our doorstep to say the car been found burnt out in a field. I was devastated! :frown:

                            * The Daihatsu 4-Track was my favourite of all the cars I've ever driven. I loved it so much. It was sturdy, comfortable, and drove like a boss. I only sold it out of necessity; I was having a rough patch financially and a combination of the high cost of maintaining a 4x4 and needing a house rental deposit drove me to sell it. :frown:

                            * The pink Jazz is growing on me. Not just it's colour, but it's reliable as all-get-out and comfy to drive. I hope this one lasts me a wee while.
