I very much doubt if it will germinate as T&M said this after buying that seed

        Red Rum was a gelding!

I accidentally forgot to bring my pumpkins indoors yesterday evening so they spent the night on the patio, it got down to 7C with a chill wind so that hasn't done them much good. They don't show any immediate signs of distress

Second pumpkin showed through today 4.5 days after sowing, so it's 3 weeks behind the first sown which seems to be growing rather slow, only just on it's 4th true leaf.

Have you sown your marrow seeds yet, as I have some with pedigree that I will not use if you want them.

From Malvern Show winner 3 years ago, not a huge pumpkin but I wanted to try a strain tried and tested in the UK, slightly sub 600lbs but maybe I'll stand more chance getting closer to that UK grown weight than using seed that produced something around 1,800 in the USA.

                    Hi guys!!

My wee girl brought a pumpkin plant home from school last week. The whole class have grown then from seed and each took one home. They've done so well....just hope mummy can look after "Peter Pumpkin" and get him to fruit!
Will he grow and fruit ok in a pot?I've repotted him into a decent sized pot....I just assumed it would grow like our courgette plants have done in past years which have grown perfectly in pots.

                    Hi Snowbaby,

Pumpkin plants vine out, the giants we grow on this topic can grow vines well over 20ft long, other more normal and smaller varieties will still vine but not as long, maybe to 8ft or so. So anyway, I don't think a pot is suitable, it needs to be in the ground.

If your short of space you can train your vine around and around in a circle 3 or 4ft in diameter but its best to let it spread.

                    Steve...:)
