:heehee: It was me sending the mice in @martin-f, my blinking sunflowers aren't up yet, they've been in the pots at least 2/3 weeks. I'm going to sow some outside tomorrow :dbgrtmb: hopefully I will have more luck out there :dbgrtmb:

L:th scifD36::th scifD36:k out! Mine are in.....I hope my enthusiasm reflects in the height of the sunflower!

I've sown some giant seeds, into a large pot, with a few red sunflower seeds scattered here & there, I'm not brave enough to plant mine straight into the soil, the :mute::mute: slugs would eat them as soon as they popped their heads through the soil :yikes:.

              Happy growing folks :hapydancsmil:

Hope you have more luck this time Beckie :), i loved the red ones i planted last year,

Slugs got to most of my plants last year on the ball with them this year used two containers of pellets already, the ones i planted direct never had chance to get near a slug the mice dug them up :heehee:, happy growing to you :).

                    Hi Martin,

I've just checked the area forecast for your area tonight.......

I think you might just be safe...... Low overnight is 12 deg :)

I will sow my large headed sunflowers in open ground on Friday when I get back from my trip, as I'll be putting bottle cloches over them I want to be around when they germinate in case they cook. They always grow stronger sown direct, but the slugs need keeping away from the seedlings and there's supposed to be loads that have overwintered and all this rain will bring them out in force.
