Spent an hour today lugging up the bags of manure to the plot, it probably would of been easier had I realised that the wheel on the barrow was flat... still it's all there now ready to be spread over the beds once they have been weeded and turned over.

The lady I got them from has a farm just outside Yarmouth here on the Island (https://www.facebook.com/preciousgemalpacas)

I'll have to report how I get on with it, although I do wish I had been offered a plot slightly lower down the hill some days

The 2nd hill I had to wheel them up...

Not been upt the allotment for weeks due to to other commitments but I went up for an hour today to make a start on weeding the beds and plan to go back tomorrow and do another one, so by the end of next week I'll have them all done...

As you can see the currents have really come along, I plan to plant my Gooseberries here and also some smaller growing herbs as there's already a fairly large sage.

Managed to get back up to the allotment for a couple of hours today and get a few things done, finally planted my poor Gooseberries which I've had laying around for a couple of months! :frown: and spread Alpaca manure around some of the now weed free currant bushes as well as weed another small bed of Currants & also weed and dig over another bed with an apple tree in.

They look nice and healthy! Much better than one of my goosegogs that appears to have succumbed to a nasty case of being dead. Lucky I have replacements...

I'm sorry it's snuffed it/kicked the bucket to the big garden in the sky

It did make me giggle though!

To be honest I'm still amazed that it's actually mine...

I've been down the pet shop to buy a couple of bags of crushed oyster shell to spread round my germinating seeds, that should keep the snails off

Like the bird scarers, do they work or do the pigeons get used to them?:)

Not sure to be honest Zigs... Everyone appears to use bottles on canes but I'm hoping the spinning might freak them out a bit more

Today's other brilliant idea, a repurchased veg rack which I picked up from the charity shop down the road it holds around 80 paper pots which I'll be sowing my dwarf Borlotti & French beans in and popping in the middle of the greenhouse

Slugs and snails put down a slime trail to get over such things, I`m afraid.
