What 'piers' @Zigs?The only other one you are likely to see is the Spotted Flycatcher, it flies out or down to catch insects and often returns to the same branch/fence/wall.

First Adder I have seen for a couple of years although they are not uncommon.
This young lady was just laying there in the wet bracken.

I took our Nature group for a walk from Worth Matravers to Winspit on the coast and saw a few things on the way.
                      A couple of resting Swallows.

I wasn't expecting to find what appears to be more Wall Lizards as I have found them at Abbotsbury Gdns, Portland quarries, Bournemouth cliffs, Durlston CP Castle and now here.
These two were on the ruins of the old stone quarry buildings on the cliff edge.

Perfect - I took a picture last night of a bird that I had called Mystery Bird because we have only been seeing them this past year ! Excuse the photography - it is one of the first pictures I took with the camera I bought yesterday.

No need to excuse it, I think that is a great picture!

No idea what the bird is though; hope someone can ID it.

They do look sharp but I'm sure that the dove knows what she is doing.

A neighbour, from seven doors away, popped round yesterday with something for Open Day and I pointed out the nest. She said 'Oh good. We wondered where the doves had gone this year'. Apparently the doves had been regular nesters by their shed for the last few years but had disappeared this year. We've assumed that they are the same doves.
