His CBI speech, only 6 months ago? Some people seem to say that really Britain couldn’t survive, couldn’t do okay outside the European Union. I don’t think that is true. Let’s be frank, Britain is an amazing country. We have got the fifth biggest economy in the world. We are a top ten manufacturer, growing steadily strong financial services. The world wants to come and do business here, look at the record of inward investment. Look at the leaders beating a path to our door to come to see what’s happening with this great country’s economy. Click to expand...
Don't forget that it is just three months ago that the EU leaders put him in his place that he "renegotiated" the UK's deal with the EU on account of our special status and place in their hearts Since then the Yanks have put us in our place (apparently we're not that special) and the extent of the issues with the Chinese economy have become clearer. So I guess that it was just a bit of bluff and bluster to "strengthen his hand". But now he's crapping himself as the possibility of his legacy being the man who turned the UK into a broken economy becomes a realistic possibility.
Imagine how dc will go down in history. The man that, under his watch, nearly saw the collapse of the United kingdom, might see the collapse of the European union, fell out with the USA, and got owned by China. I almost feel sorry for him. No wait... Nope. I don't.
I'd have said it was Gordon Brown who nearly saw the collapse of the United Kingdom, if the EU collapses that's up to them, I didn't know we'd fell out with USA, and the more countries that invest and bring money into the UK the better.
Didn't like Gordon Brown much, but he did one good thing, he kept us out of the Euro, if toxic Tony had had his way we would have been in like a shot. I dont think we have fell out with the US, just might upset Obama if we leave, but then he is leaving also. So who cares I do often worry why we are depending so much on outside money to "invest" in the UK. I doint like China being involved, full stop, especially when it comes to building nuclear reactors. When we seem to put so much into the EU, but "appear" to get little back in the way of proper investment.
Even America will fall out with America if that happens. That ain't meant as a joke either, I think it could lead to hell of a lot of trouble within itself.
Assuming Trump was to get the job, do you really think he would be able to do what he says he will. Cant remember any politician do that in my lifetime, it all gets dumbed down once elected. I see the new mayor of London is now tipped to be a future PM. Just one more step on the take over.
No, not unless you include the probable Republican candidate Donald Trump who said:: Donald Trump has said he might not have a “very good relationship” with David Cameron, after the prime minister described his proposal to ban Muslims from the US as “stupid”. The US presidential hopeful also sniped at the new London mayor, Sadiq Khan, for comments he made after being elected and warned him: “I will remember those statements.” He challenged Khan to “take an IQ test” after the mayor called him ignorant. We could go back a thousand years, Anthony, and blame any one of the leaders over the years for their actions leading to this situation, what we have to deal with is the present leaders of the different countries/organisations involved as their actions are the ones that affect us now.
There was no referendum in Scotland during Brown's watch. Nor was there a referendum planned regarding the UK leaving the eu. And while we haven't technically fallen out with the US, they have expressed serious concerns about sonecof our policies and plans lately. Trump has publicly said he won't get on with Cameron, and Obama was caught on mic recently whining about us when he didn't realise he was being recorded.
I remember them all! All leaders/politicians dislike and distrust other leaders/politicians. In the old days there wasn't the technology to pick up their comments. Even the Queen has said things
