Hi. I too have stopped posting much on the Gardener's World site. Got fed up with the Verdun and Dove Roadshow to be honest.
Not that I do much posting on here these days either.

Those two did contribute a lot, but I didn't find them unpleasant. I found myself agreeing with Dove quite a lot.
It wasn't the people at all - it was the awfulness of the 'new look'.

          It's a lute that's the great leveller.

Only by residence - for 31 years. Londoner originally. I might stay if I like it.

Do a bit of moaning - complain you haven't been enrolled in the Grumpy Old Men's Club and then I'll elect you on to the committee. :old:

The thing with new forum layouts, they usually come with an upgrade firmware/software to keep the site safe from Viruses DDOS attacks etc,

Unfortunately the site owners are limited to what's out there and there pockets are not so deep due to only getting funds from donations and sponsorship, staff work for free and give up there spare time to try and ensure the site runs smoothly,

Some peeps don't like changes but at the end of the day staff/site owners are not trying to disrupt the forum there left with no option to upgrade to new FW to keep the site safe/have it closed down from attacks if no upgrade is applied,

                      Something worth thinking about :).

                        Hmmm ....
... and there's the qualifier! :old: :old: :old: :heehee:

Quite! They would be shooting themselves in the foot if that was their aim.

We get upgrades and blips here too (how could we not?) and, just sometimes, I'll go away for a couple of days when that happens and come back and the blips have either beggared off, or, the A-Team have worked hard at sorting it out (bless 'em; and much appreciated too :blue thumb: ).

Oh and just a warning reminder ... some of the A-Team are out of town in 10 days time ... that's when I set up the party thread :heehee: :ccheers: :partytime:
But SHH!!! :mute: They won't be expecting ... it so keep it under your hat ;) :th scifD36: :mute:

...but they didn't tell us that. They just said that we'd be getting a 'new look' forum.

:frown: It won't let me post links to examples of other forums. Fora?
