Raised beds with concrete paving slabs

Hi,

I have inherited a bunch of concrete paving slabs, they are about 5cm thick. I was thinking about sticking them in the ground to create raised beds.

This appears to be an unorthodox approach as I can't see any other examples of this from searching the web. Can anybody foresee any problems?

You mean like half buried, edge up?

Don't see why not, might need something round them to stop them spreading, like a tantalised batten frame

These are 90cm long fortunately so can easily afford to dig them in 30cm and still have 60cm above the ground.

Hi, I did this in my front garden as its on a bit of a slope so used some slabs on their side at one end so I could level it off.

Get some of the post fix stuff to fix them in place, otherwise they will bow out. I had to lift mine and do them again
