Planted 3 evening primrose plants (bought at a village sale at the weekend) and moved a couple of day lilies. Lawn mowed, all new plants fed and watered.
Oh and I created a pot "bog" garden which I planted up with: Sambucus Nigra; Astilbe; Hosta and Houttuynia :fingers crossed:

Then the coal train came.. I have shouted "traiiiin" every time I've seen it come past for the whole 8 years I've lived here, sad but love it!
        20160524_102609.jpg

Got round to planting some pots and baskets, moved things about, tidied up pots, propped a dahlia up, bit of a clean and give everything a water :blue thumb:

Weeded everywhere and anywhere... Cut the lawn... Visit to B&Q ... Visit to the garden center and all planted up :)

Replanted a lot of the pond plants, cleaned the filters and purchased two new fish all looking good... So with a glass of wine now chilling out in front of the chiminea :)

Being obsessed with planters and trailing plants atm this will be my next design and save the bees a journey.

It will look lovely with something like this trailing out of it.

Although today has been the first day without rain this week, I have very little motivation. My get-up-and-go never showed up, never mind stayed the course!

But I did manage to do the first bash at cutting the edges of the lawn to the patio, and also to the drive. An overhanging branch that was nearly sitting on top of my old pear tree has been removed (extendable pruning saw strikes again!)
I should cut the grass, but I have already accepted that just ain't gonna happen today!

It's been a busy day today.

Took delivery of 50 chairs, police cones, banners and A boards (more things to come over the next two days). Mowed the main lawn, moved the big, bird feeders to another part of the garden, ran 80ft of chicken wire around the second ShineyFrame, folded it, pinned it down and staked it. Dug two wheelie bins of weeds, collected 2 x 6ft tables and 2 x 3ft tables from the village hall and then flaked out in my armchair. Now I'm off out for the evening. :phew:

I've tried to do some repair work to the 'bowl' of my bird bath. A crack started to appear a couple of years ago and having dried out while I was away for a couple of weeks, it's now like a sieve. I can't get a replacement of any kind on the island and the fact it weighs a 'ton' I won't be importing one.

Not the best picture but the only close up I have at the moment. :)
                          128.JPG

I've used a recommended putty for it but it wasn't the easiest of things to apply. The inside of the 'bowl' is scalloped so that hampered procedure quite a bit. I'll sand it down tomorrow and see if it's done the trick, albeit a temporary measure. I expect the top to fall in half at some point.
