    Hello,
Our garden is approximately 60 feet long by 25 feet wide. It really needs some work doing as its been neglected over the years. I retired in September and later in the year I had some old sycamore trees removed, new fencing installed and the ground cleared. Then with the cold wet weather I didn't get a lot done apart from mowing the lawn which is half the length of the garden. The rest is ploughed field looking! We went on holiday for two weeks and came back on Sunday to rather high weeds again. Anyway with the nice weather today I spent a few hours out there and we now have the lawn looking ok again. I started to bowl through the weeds with the mower in the wilder part of the garden and was really pleased to find it reasonably level and although looking a bit bare now I did clear a lot of weeds.

There were nettles all over the place and lots of brambles at the back. Also that long spindly stuff that clings to your clothes, I'm not sure what it is. I don't want an immaculate symmetrical garden but I do want something fairly manageable as the old arthritis is getting worse. Where I mowed through the weeds today am I right in thinking if I keep mowing, the grass will return and the weeds will be suppressed? Now I'm not working I would like to make something that we can enjoy but also easy maintenance.

Any suggestions will be really appreciated,
    Thanks,
    Dave.

Can we see some photos so we can get an idea of what you're working with? You may get some suggestions if you post some. :)
