Took cl1.1 for his swimming lesson today, then joined him for a swim afterwards as usual. After just 2 lessons he is much more confident and can actually swim a bit unaided.

Then off to a countryside pub that we've known a while but didn't realise the extent of their beer garden until today, having only previously been on an evening. It is on the edge of an actual farm, and you could literally go for a walk in the garden. It is huge. And even if you were to spill out of the garden, it's countryside for as far as the eye can see. It's beautiful. Food was ridiculously expensive though so we just had some pop then came home, via the Indian takeaway. Then the annual Eurovision ritual, and beer.

big costume party on the beach last night, live band, good food. Our costume came in 4th out of 100 costumes. today, Sunday, packing etc. and a little more fishing off the pier right by where we are staying. will fry up the balance of the fish we caught the other day, after I get to the store for sides. And finding more freckles before we leave.

Got a rat with a post surgical abscess, which yesterday was ready to pop. Dealt with it whilst sat in conservatory but was unprepared for the velocity and trajectory of expressing it :eeew: stream of blood, fluid and pus shot 2 feet and spattered over my clean washing on the coffee table. Totally disgusting but I'm sure Zac felt better afterwards.

Spent rest of day in garden, had nice ride up to Windmill in the evening and sat on caravan steps at sunset ( waiting for hubby to come home after a golfing day ) watching baby wild rats playing and running back and forth to stash left over bird food:)

Yesterday's bad weather cleared away by 11, although still breezy. We went to Cemlyn Bay in afternoon, which is a coastal nature reserve. During late spring/ early summer a large colony of Terns nest there. It's an amazing sight:). There is a small island close to shore where we often see Seals too, but not yesterday. There is a fierce current running when the tide is going out so maybe that is why. Found a sheltered spot to have a picnic :)

:gaah: Monday, back to work after 2 weeks off. over the weekend boss notified me to attend a sudden meeting an hour drive to get to. was not as I planned my first day back. Oh, well. have to leave by 8AM to get there. Then to my list set prior to my vacation to attach upon return. And it starts again. BUT, I am only working three days this week, then off Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. to take some time before I lose it. :hapfeet:

Went to view a house yesterday. The location was lovely, very peaceful and secluded :) No views, but I'm happy to sacrifice that for peace and quiet. The house is of Kencast construction, which I've not come across before. It was put up in 1973 and apparently ' recently refurbished ' according to the agents description. It transpired that the refurbishment was in 2001! Since then it looks like very little has been done and it's now starting to slowly fall apart - rotten gable ends, holes in the sofits, smelt damp and saw damp patches, etc. Garden is the same, was once very pretty but been left to over grow.

I'm looking for another project, so not at all put off by that. Tempted to do another viewing. I'm not sure about the Kencast construction though. Has anyone here lived in one?

Thanks for the link Loofah:) There doesn't seem to be that much information online about Kencast. I quite liked the style of this particular bungalow we viewed but I think I had decided within 5 minutes that it would likely be more trouble than its worth. Along with the internal refurbishment in 2001 an outer layer was also added with more insulation - that ties in with what I read on the link. Its a shame that after doing the work no one has kept it up together. I will keep looking.

Had a knock on the door this morning, neighbours kids found a black cat in their pool, my other half ran round and scooped it out but it wasn't Timmy. It was his "evil twin" Salem..looked the spit of him, am gutted, he regularly came to our garden to play with the other cats. Worst thing about it is all the kids were just looking at it, shouting urgghhh dead cat and the parents didn't even cover him up. So we put our cats in and went to the beach for the day to escape the constant "we had a dead cat in our pool" chant. Moving can't come quick enough.
