Well there are all over the place M you know what i am like with VC well i am the same with bird boxes :heehee:,

The ones that's in the trees will have to be moved as the trees are coming down, the one to the right of the greenhouse needs moving next doors grandkids play football against the fence, the one near to the house with the cctv camera at the side has had interest but patio doors will be going in soon so might be best moving that one,

A few pictures to give you an idea where they are atm.

Thank you for the pictures @martin-f  couple of things spring to mind:-

Firstly, I think you have too many in the space you have available. They can be very territorial and you should probably only have two and even they should be a good 15 feet apart (although 20 feet is better).

Secondly, I may have confused the issue when I mentioned "position" (totally my mistake, sorry ). What I should have asked is: which direction are they positioned in e.g. a north facing position is probably the best of all. A South or West facing box risks the danger of the babies being fried alive when in the full heat of the sun sits on it.

Thirdly, it is unwise to position bird boxes too close to feeders/watering holes. The activity of other birds would be off putting to potential residents.

If you take those three suggestions forward, I'm confident you should have some happy feathered residents next year

Many thanks M, i will reposition them come autumn only one box is facing south ish, I have a sparrow hawk that hunts from the big trees so not surprising nothing fancied nesting in them kids banging a ball near another is a no go for them,

I don't think having to many boxes is a problem if a pair decide to build they will protect there territory if they wished to do so sometimes they will nest side by side,

I don't think my garden helped it was like a new build around Christmas time when they start choosing there nesting spot, but like you say a bit more thought and i might have success :).

I have 5 boxes set up and this none have been used at all. The Blue Tits appeared to be building a nest in one and then abandoned it.

I have 3 boxes and all 3 are empty, last year all 3 had wasps in them, so they were moved. There is a Wrens nest close to one, but nothing in side.

Think I'm suffering from "empty nest" syndrome ... it simply isn't the same without the constant activity of the parent birds flying in and out

                  *sighs*
