I've been googling and it seems between blue circle postcrete and a traditional mix the main factor is cost and time nothing really seems to differ between the quality of holding a concrete post

In the office I'm sitting in right now there are contractors working outside putting up fencing, they are using postcrete - it must save a fair bit of time mixing so is convenient and not so messy to work with, you've got to weigh that against the extra cost.

I've ordered 24 bags of blue circle, the deed is done haha, mainly due to my doing the job on my own so saving time and managed to get my local timber supplier to give me at 3.70 a bag including vat which was very cheap!

By the time you've made a mix you could have set two posts in, the quick drying is an advantage you don't have to spend time using braces, the only downfall its more expensive.

You can sit the decking on stone/concrete/brick pads instead of using timber if you're concerned over rotting. easy enough.

So a productive Saturday starting my fencing the first two gravel boards are up as I need to remove tree stumps, I have found a way to remove them which meant I could fence still, and I'll finish the bottom next weekend as I will have to grab a diamond cutting disc for my gravel boards but as a first attempt I'm pretty chuffed, the first post was low and out of line but can always be refitted if it winds me up in the future

So thought id give and update the fence is nearly done, slight delay in finishing because of work commitments etc, however I've started to make a plan!, I believe organisation is key!, I've uploaded a photo of how it's going to start like, majority lawn but with bedding areas and a patio, as my drawing isn't to scale the patio will be sized at 13ft x 25ft and my sleeper fence idea will be brilliant, just wait til you see it lol. Ive uploaded a picture of what the hexagon in the plan will be similar to, however building that myself with a few changes, thoughts as always welcomed!

                    Hi Liam.
A bit late to the thread, but it looks like you're doing some good work there, liking the fence  One thing, have you considered putting in a veg patch? Some raised beds at the bottom end would work well I reckon. Just a thought...

It is still a work in progress design but that is a great idea I have some old 3x7 timber joists from a site closure not too long ago that I was thinking of using for raised beds and the missus would like a veg patch, although I'll be starting my how to grow a veg patch thread when I build it lol. Thanks

How wide is it at the bottom end?

Perfect. So, you could have two 10ft long, 4ft wide raised beds across the bottom. You will have enough space left to allow good access all round. Ideally, you would need to keep the beds as far away from the bottom fence as far as you can, to allow for maximum light. But that would be wasted space, so I would go for around 3ft from the fence. You could of course go for four or six raised beds. This would allow for crop rotation, and also give you the opportunity to grow lots of different crops.
I appreciate that you are only contemplating veg growing, but hopefully this gives you a pointer

The fence is coming on well Liam. :dbgrtmb:

Just a safety thought on the fire pit idea. The swing surround could mean some scalded legs?

Just an update as it's been a while after a lot of busy weekends at work I finally got to clearing the space and bar a bit of path to lift near the garage I'm pretty much at a blank canvas finally! Onto the patio at the bottom next and moving the shed down there too
