Yes, it must be difficult to overwinter them if you live in a flat.
Doesn't your mom have anywhere in her garden they can be kept ?

I don't like too high temperatures. I try to keep my Fuchsias in a shady/part shady place. I've lost a few over the years because of high temperatures

@Anthony Rogers , the Fuchsias you kindly mailed me are now happily in the shadey part of the GH :blue thumb: Now I really do like the F. Bluesky, would it be OK to replace a failing plant in a hanging basket ? The reason I ask is some sites class it as a hardy perennial growing to 3 feet ! I presume not in it's first year . I should also be able to pot it on end of season to over winter it.

            Hi Harry,

            Glad you like them.

The Mr Blue Sky is a sport off Delta's Sarah, only with lax stems that hang down with the weight of the flowers. I hope it does as I've done a wall basket full of them so it'll look a bit daft if they grow upright :)

I think the reason some say it's hardy is because its mother plant ( D. S. ) is.

Being a semi-trailer I can't really see where you'd plant it as a hardy as once it started to grow it would just lay across the ground and get spoiled wouldn't it ?

Are they any good, I was going to send for some off them last year but when I received the catalogue I was put off by some of the descriptions/photos. Whether they'd just got the photos mixed up before they went to print I don't know. I don't think so as I know someone who bought " Orange Crush " off them and when it flowered it was " Checkerboard " and the photo in the catalogue was " Checkerboard " as well.

Last year they sent me a wrong variety but when I told them about it they apologised and sent me the correct one without any charge.
I've had that experience with other Fuchsia nurseries too, so they are not the only ones that get it wrong.
I didn't send for the catalogue. I looked on line.

All the plants I've had from them have been excellent.

                      Thanks Michael,

I'll probably give them a try next year then as they do do some of the rarer " normal " ones.

I generally use ClayLane Nurseries who do excellent little plants rather than cuttings but they only specialise in the Species and Interspecies.

I've just had a look at Clay Lane. They have some nice ones I'd like. I'll try them next year.

That's a coincidence, I've got 12 plants to go in a couple of hanging baskets. Way behind though, only around six inches at the moment, but growing fast now.

                              Hi Freddy,

I'll let you into a likkle secret.... ( Shush, don't tell anyone )....

I haven't planted any of my baskets yet. To get this photo I put the plant in its pot in an empty basket to get it to stand upright :)
