    Hi JJordie,

I just haven't got the time to properly reply yet, but, just a short one for now.....

Tata are one of the lifebloods of the Birmingham and West Midlands. They have saved thousands of jobs and put millions into the economy.

JLR, are doing better now than they have in almost 30 years, they are opening new plants all around the World,...... Including one in my town, Kidderminster and I can assure you we are in Worcestershire, England, GREAT Britain, UNITED KINGDOM.

If we look, with 6 days to go, how things are shaping up, it does look overwhelmingly likely that United Kingdom will vote to leave the EU.. this is very high probability as it stands.

However whilst the median range for current polling is generally something like 48% for remain and 52% for leave (when don't knows are removed), the only spanner in the works are the don't knows... it could well be that the majority of don't know go for status quo, in which the result would swing to remain. Perhaps on the other hand though with all the antics by the Tories, perhaps the don't knows will have had enough of these tactics and be considering voting out.

The other thing too, perhaps are ex-pats, of which those who can vote account for maybe 4-5% of the UK voting population. If they take the time to vote in great numbers, that could also have an impact on the result, assuming ex-pats are more likely to vote for remain.

So despite what the press say it's still open, but from what we can gague from polls so far, leave is at the current time, likely to win fairly convincingly.

Good morning @wiseowl On the outside looking in, as I am doing, it looks as if you will be eating your feathers shortly.

From what I have seen of late, many people are not going to vote for what is best for the country in the coming years. Their vote is going to be decided on whether they like the politicians or not. Its democracy at its worst.

Maybe Linz would be interested in the following segment.... British Army's new Ajax fighting vehicles to be built in SPAIN using SWEDISH steel at the request of the EU to support jobs in Spain with EU grant, rather than Wales.
Indesit at Bodelwyddan Wales gone with EU grant.
Sekisui Alveo said production at its Merthyr Tydfil Industrial Park foam plant will relocate production to Roermond in the Netherlands, with EU funding.
Hoover Merthyr factory moved out of UK to Czech Republic and the Far East by Italian company Candy with EU backing.

Larger companies often merge, split, relocate, outsource etc. They'd do that with or without eu assistance.

So a company moves a function from Wales to elsewhere in the eu, with eu financial backing. Chances are it was only because of eu backing that it remained anywhere in the eu. Without eu backing it might have gone to India or Malaysia.

Sorry but that is a cut 'n paste from t'interweb.

              http://blogs.spectator.co.uk/2016/06/what-the-papers-say/

It is in the comments section 75% of the way down the page. That in turn is a cut 'n paste as it has been many times all over the web. When anyone is asked for substantiation anywhere it has been pasted none is forthcoming. From the best of my research none of the loan claims are substantiated as presented.
The Southampton factory was living on borrowed time. The British Motor industry failed decades ago as a result of poor products. The Ford loan was a bit of a grey area I will admit, Dyson didn't get a loan to relocate to the Far East and the others are are spurious at best (do your research and see what comes up). Most are owned by multinationals or relocated to within the EU. Frankly UK manufacturing on the whole is such a poor option due to low productivity and excessive wages that it was doomed. Peugeot stepped in when Ryton was going to close after the collapse of the Roots Group - it is up to them whether they keep an unprofitable plant going or not surely.

Anthony, I think the terminology is "was" one of the lifebloods of the Birmingham and West Midlands as they are trying to sell all their assets, including the Chemicals part in the UK. The media focus has been on the Steel Industry but TATA are bent on getting out of the UK due to [a] the high labour costs, the pension liabilities, and the high energy costs. The local TATA Soda Ash and Calcium Chloride Works which has been in operation for over 140 years is to be shut down and the two other local TATA factories are to be sold off as soon as they can. So as they say, it's ta ta to TATA.:dunno::coffee:

                      Hi Armandii,

They ARE NOT trying to sell JLR.....
                      ...

Their annual revenue has increased from £11 billion to just under £23 billon.

Their annual profits have increased from £1.3 to £2.5 billion.

They are now the UK's the largest car manufacture after Nissan.

                      That have created an extra
                      17,000 jobs.

They have invested £1 billion in a state of art engine manufacturing centre in Wolverhampton.

They are investing £5 million in an Automotive Components plant in Kidderminster creating over 100 jobs which we badly need.

Sorry Armandii, the term is " Are one of the lifebloods ".

New models this year will include......

                      The F.Pace Crossover

                      The Range Rover Evoque convertible

And a replacement for the Defender.

I think you will find, Anthony, that TATA is selling off all it's Chemical, Steel, and Power Plants in the UK. The nearest factory is in Northwich just 15 miles away from me and one of my neighbour's who works for TATA has attended all the Management mmetings meetings which was attended by Senior TATA Directors from London, who told the TATA Staff of the plans to sell off, or shut down, all the Chemical, Steel, Power Plants and associated businesses. Keeping the Car Works which TATA had to because it was "ring fenced" it bought is something that will leave TATA as a shadow of itself as an employer because there are far more people employed overall in those industries than in the Car Plant, and the Car Plant will be literally be the only business left.

I'm sorry Armandii, but like any typical Bexiter you have twisted and misquoted me.

I said that they " Are one of the lifebloods of Birmingham and the West Midlands ",not Cheshire, Wales or even Outer Mongolia.

I then went on to say " They are not trying to sell off JLR ".

YOU were the one that mentioned all the other industries, not me. I still stand by my statement that they are a lifeblood of the West Midlands.

Do I care what us happening in Cheshire, No, just as you obviously don't care what is happening in Worcestershire and the West Midlands.
