Not a holiday as such but finally got round to camping the weekend just gone, being first time with kids we didn't go far, nice local campsite and pitched right next to a play area :blue thumb:Really enjoyed, didn't forget anything and even set the tent up wrong 3 times with no arguments! Note for next time though, bring bug spray! :snork:

I've seen those at Hoburne Blue Anchor, Somerset (a dog friendly site), did they look like this?

I've also been (early) retired 15 years, but I think I managed it at a much earlier age as I still haven't reached state pension age.

Some people may think "being able to get up in the morning when you like" might mean getting up late, but for me it more often than not means being able to get up earlier in summer.

For me it really means that I can do things in whatever order I wish. Getting up is not a problem for me :noidea: but I can have my shower and my breakfast whenever I feel like it. Last night I cooked my dinner at 11.30 :) :blue thumb:

Currently I'm sorting out a tour of Salzburg, Munich, Vienna and Budapest with visits to places in between. I'm just about to book a night in Vienna at a medley of opera, operetta, classical concert music, solo ballet and some other famous Viennese music. :dbgrtmb:

My holiday will be unusual. Visiting the largest desert in Europe, and no, its not Ainsdale....:snork:

Oh, and visiting a rosarium in Germany on the way home.

I'm actually on holiday this week.
Spent Monday getting two tyres sorted on my car.
Yesterday rubbing down my back porch ready to paint and today doing the undercoat.
Tomorrow my car is in for a service and MOT, and Friday, who knows, might just end up glossing the porch.
If its not raining too hard.

Aint life fun :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

What one is that? I like deserts and have been to quite a lot - even ran a thread on here about some of the deserts I visited.

That's the thing @Scrungee . Although no beds , all you get is the empty shell and two electric sockets - and a light !

                    That seems interesting :blue thumb:

I've been to what is purported to be the smallest desert in the world (not a sand dune :heehee:) in Venezuela. It's called Medanos de Coro and known in English as The Sands of Coro. Although it's only 3 miles by about 18 miles the dunes can reach up to 130ft high. The town of Santa Anna de Coro (local capital) is on the edge of it and the sands quite often try to invade. The town is now a World Heritage Site, the earliest European settlement in S. America (see, I got a reference to Europe in to the info as it's the EU referendum day today :snork:) as it was founded 500 years ago.
