One thing I do applaud is that this shows that our voting isn't rigged - if there was ANY way this could have been fixed I'm sure it would have been!
I expect, despite the crowing for it, that any country in the EU even remotely considering a similar referendum will watch to see how the UK copes in the aftermath couple of years before making any announcements
in Italy it is quite popular to have a referendum. Just look at the list of the parties and you will understand how many point of views there are, to please. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_political_parties_in_Italy
I should imagine the Scots are pretty pi$$ed off this morning, they voted by a massive majority 62% to Remain !
Gutted that Cameron has resigned, despite our opposing views. We need stability now. He's also reneged on his promise to invoke Article 50 straight away. We now have to wait until at least October to know whether the next leader will feel he has the mandate to invoke it without holding another general election. It's difficult to see though how anyone from the remain camp can take over the leadership and thus negotiate our exit.
This will have major implications for us gardeners...... We'll be able to use soapy water to kill aphids legally when we leave
I also think that it's a bad move for Cameron to move on - unless there's someone else that's able to negotiate with the EU. You'll have to wait two years
It's all going to be OK Mr Tebbit's been on the tellie saying he's not worried Fortunately, for me, my UK pension got transferred into euros on Thursday else it would have been no Sancerre for me this weekend.
Well unless the SNP is even stupider than I thought can't see them jumping up and down re yet ANOTHER referendum any time soon. Chances are that by the time permission to hold another 1 would be granted there won't be an EU to join. While the result may not suit me personally I accept the decision of the majority. The country I really feel sorry for is Northern Ireland, they could well be heading for a united Ireland and god help us with all the trouble that is likely to cause. I'm old enough to remember how my life was impacted by the horrors of the IRA, there's enough terrorism these days without that lot being back in the headlines. If it took Greenland 3 years to remove themselves from the EU, we'll still be wrangling about it in 10 years time. I can't see that situation being of benefit to the youth of GB. Time will tell.
If any of them have an iota of sense, they'll put those thoughts on hold until they see how we emerge from the next couple of years of negotiations ETA: Ooops, sorry, posted this before seeing your other post. Consider it amended to: DITTO
